What an amazing number. I graduated in 1975 from a school in Arkansas, and while I don't think surveys asked that question, it wasn't controversial at all. We were taught that the Civil war was over slavery.

I wonder if it's still taught that way and there's just more disinformation, or if what's taught has changed.
