But if those images are at best stereotypes and at worst racist, then what's the problem?

They need to go, I agree, but another issue for diversity in general is the paucity of positive public images of groups other than white people...

The future: Black people cannot be in an ad alone anymore, only in groups with other races. Exception: black hair products.

Onion has some ideas:
Host “listening sessions” within communities to kick issue down road.

$500 bonus for cops who don’t kill unarmed black people.

Popular Mechanics examines practical approaches to do-it-yourself monument modification.

'How to Topple a Statue Using Science'
It hasn’t been a great past few weeks for statues.

From Bristol, England to Birmingham, Alabama, people all over the world have been grappling with the legacy of racism by tossing their grappling hooks around the heads of problematic monuments.

Should you happen to find yourself near a statue that you decide you no longer like, we asked scientists for the best, safest ways to bring it to the ground without anyone getting hurt—except, of course, for the inanimate racist who’s been dead for a century anyway.

⚠️This article is being presented only to describe the physics and mechanics of removing statues, in light of national attention being drawn to the removal of Confederate monuments and statues. Popular Mechanics is not encouraging anyone to remove any statues. There is a risk of injury whenever you try to remove or destroy a statue, even if you were to apply information presented in this article.

The officers standing around casually chatting should be indicted as well. Why didn't they intervene? If it was just out of some misplaced sense of social awkwardness, or if they were personally unconcerned by the action of the officer, it speaks volumes about the callous disregard and contempt the police all-too-often show for the rights and lives of minorities in the community.
Or perhaps, they stood casually because they did not sense that Floyd was in distress. Why?

a) Floyd was already saying, "I can't breathe" minutes before being brought down.
b) The knee on the neck was a standard body restraint method used to restrain an arrest resistor. It was not a choke hold. It was not the cause of his suffocation; his opioid drug overdose was.
c) Floyd showed a sudden burst of strength from possibly 'excited delirium' (EXD) just before being brought down. A common effect of strong opioids (Fentanyl is 50 times stronger than heroin).
d) All the above are symptoms of the THREE times the lethal dose of Fentanyl that he had in his blood. Pulmonary & respiratory cessation are effects of such a high dose of Fentanyl. But a hysterical dumb population can't see that, can they?

However rough the police were, George Floyd was destined to die...his karma caught up with him :coffee:

They can't see what isn't there. The coroner's report doesn't state "THREE times the lethal dose of Fentanyl..."

Or perhaps the cop was just a bullying cunt with a grievance because Floyd called him out for excessive force on his moonlighting job as a bouncer at a local nightclub? The real Galaxian would never have just uncritically repeated right-wing conspiracies - the real Galaxian was far more rigourous, not to mention erridite.
