I suggest that every one of the individuals who stormed the Capitol were convinced they were patriotic because that belief.
I don't accept your suggestion as informed.

Having listened to an interview with a reporter who was THERE, in the buildings, he paints a much clearer picture.

Mr. Q (from that interview most of you won't hear) also led me to this - https://static1.squarespace.com/static/ ... 1049am.pdf
But it's from some 'right-wingers' no doubt, so you should ignore it, too. Interesting read about the current use of mobs.
What does Mr Q actually add to the broiling pot of reliable information; what ingredient would the pot be missing without him? How important is it that the information soup carries a taste of Mr Q - and what happens if it turns out that Mr Q tastes like a donkey's ringpiece?
His report was from inside the capitol buildings, during the events of the 6th.

I kinda wonder if he is going to get arrested. I think he should. A judge can decide if his reporting was also rioting. (or insurrection, or whatever they charge with)

Yep, you guessed it. Because they are all completely uninformed by logic, facts or rationality...

He rarely proffers an opinion. It's mostly rhetorical questions and ad homs.

True. And his ad homs are usually cleverly constructed circumlocutions designed to leave the door open for plausible denial. The element of plausible denial is obvious in the following quote, for example, but what do you think is the actual meaning underlying this statement of what our member from Yellowknife says about me?

You sound smart a lot of the time, but I always consider a quote of yours, to help me remember how to value your facts. That only leaves your personality, and how the rest of your posts come across, as the primary value I can take from your offerings.
Another technique for avoiding being pinged is his use of sarcasm. Look at his current signature. "I don't want to forget this enlightening quote by our prestigious and sage member... " Doesn't take much to work out what Daggles really means, does it?

It means I found it enlightening.

When I get called out by you, for reposting something unchecked (I recently got it wrong here on ratz) I take it, reconsider the info, and usually find you genuine and aiming for clarity and understanding.

But even with all those strengths, you can honestly back a statement such as in my sig. Quite a contrast. I don't understand it, but I keep thinking about it.

Most recently, I think of perhaps you having a radically different definition of racist that you can reasonably apply to such a large, diverse group of people

But it doesn't matter that I'm wrong sometimes. I expect that. Observing how you communicate with me, tells me how you communicate with me.

That, political opinions / misunderstandings aside, is at least clear.

According to one source the number of Covid deaths in the US now exceeds the total US deaths in WW2.

It's mostly the old people dying. People 70 years or older. They were born or grew up during WW2 or the aftermath. They probably died now as a late aftereffect of malnutrition and stress during and after the war. So, they should actually be counted as WW2 deaths.

Furthermore you can't trust US statistics. The number of US war deaths has been fabricated - minimised for a political purpose. The purpose is to make the Corona pandemic look bigger and scarier. It's a mean to control the plebs.

UK Covid-19 deaths are around 660-700 per 1 million.
Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

You can't believe those figures. The UK can't work out the real figures because it is corrupt and incompetent. The figures are also too low because the Tories want to open the shops and factories again. They are also too high because the Tories want to control the population through fear. You've been drinking the Kool-Aide, Treasured Buddy.
