Not entirely sure she's even practicing let alone warming up. Maybe switching to the uke.

We'll see how China does maintaining its Great Covid Wall.
Well, at least there won't be any more stray cats or dogs. What will the local restaurants do?

I actually have no idea if this is true, eutimes is a right wing rag. There are other reports but they range from one pet killed to tens of thousands, the political slant of the outlet is directly related to the number of "murdered" animals.

No you're not. You said just the other day how keen you were to get the fuck out of dodge.

VERY glad I was here for the pandemic, I would not have wanted to be in Swaziland or South Africa. Their lockdowns were even more ridiculous than yours, at least y'all could buy booze. But now that they've gotten rid of the Covid tests at the border and (at least) the outdoor mask mandates, it's time to get out of BidenVille. I can wear a mask at the grocery store, though it's utterly, totally ridiculous and completely useless, but it makes the morons feel safe and I guess that's something.

Hannity's lie about promoting ivermectin reminds me to catch up on the latest astounding news on that front...

February-- 'Ivermectin Not Effective in Stopping Severe COVID, Study Finds'

March-- 'Ivermectin No More Effective Against COVID Than Placebo: Clinical Trial'
A recent study found that ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug that has been widely debated as a COVID-19 treatment, is ineffective in fighting the coronavirus, experts reported.

The study, which was published on Wednesday, followed 1,300 people in Brazil showing symptomatic signs of COVID-19 infection. The patients in the test received either ivermectin or a placebo, and the results of the study found that those who received ivermectin were not less likely to end up hospitalized.

In fact, those who took ivermectin in the first three days after testing positive for COVID-19 appeared to have worse symptoms than those in the placebo group, according to The New York Times.

I'm in the middle here - I think that it is genuinely declining, but that we still need as much vaccination cover as possible, and a robust eye out for new, dangerous variants, which are certainly possible. Get as many jabs as you can, folks...

It is never over. The goal --in this conversation imo-- should be to accurately portray the risks.

Thankfully things are still going well here. --infection rates and hospitalizations both looking good

I'm not sure it's declining so much as we're in the process of getting used to live with it, building our resistance, and selecting the less deadly strains for perpetuation.

The question for me isn't so much if Covid is over as when will it move from pandemic to endemic.

And that is not a sudden thing, nor is it the same the world over. IMO, it is in the process of slowly changing from pandemic to endemic, and the speed of the change will vary considerably from region to region.
