In Oz, during our covid-19 winter, cases of and deaths from the flu dropped considerably, compared to previous years. This was probably due to the measures adopted against the coronavirus (masks, social distancing, more hand washing) being also effective at preventing flu transmission, but increased vaccination rates and decreased international arrivals may have also been factors.

And what does this washing do? If you did not get infected, there is nothing you can catch from the mask the next day. They don't live or multiply on masks. If you blew snot into it, once a week should keep it sanitary.

They get smelly otherwise...

I have some cloth masks in pockets, the bike bag and backpacks. I hardly ever use them. I used the one in the bike bag to stop at a yard sale once. so they have been used a couple of times. I am reluctant to take them away as then the mask is not there. They are there for standby duty, when someone surprises me. 90% of the time I use a N95 or KN95 mask. I may have a cloth mask over it at times, as it looks a little creepy.

Nope. I'm assuming that there is a big virus, and it is highlighting how similar both parties are, when it comes to caging children.

The kids can illustrate a tough problem - namely coyotes using children as a defense against criminal behaviour.

Victoria has recorded its sixth day in a row without a new case of COVID-19, the day before restrictions are set to be further lifted across the state.

There were 18,282 test results processed on Wednesday.

Tightened mask rules and visitor caps, which have been in place since a snap five-day lockdown lifted last Wednesday, are set to be in place until at least midnight on Friday.

Earlier this week, Premier Daniel Andrews said the state was "well placed" to have the rules changed, but that the announcement would be made closer to the deadline.

Although most restrictions will be lifted at the end of the "circuit-breaker" lockdown, international arrivals into the state have been put on hold indefinitely.

ICE officials also canceled Operation Talon, a nationwide operation targeting sex offenders subject to deportation that had been planned in the final weeks of the Trump administration, emails show.

A senior ICE official said the Biden administration had nothing to do with that decision. Speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters, the official said they had not heard about the operation, but that it was possible that career staffers had planned it and set it aside while awaiting new instructions from the Biden team.

The official noted that Homeland Security Investigations, a separate wing of ICE that conducts criminal investigations, has continued investigating sex offenses involving U.S. citizens and noncitizens.

I also see that, satisfying to Joe, a fact-check claimed that an anonymous source said the ' Biden administration had nothing to do with...' cancelling the program.

Was that anonymous source was q? Maybe he should be believed. Or maybe anonymous sources are as sketchy as any anonymous news source.
