Re: The Coronavirus Thread

A “home and hotel” scheme under which hospital patients will be discharged early to free up bed space for Covid sufferers needing life-or-death treatment is being launched in England to prevent the NHS from collapsing. Documents seen by the Guardian show that hospital chiefs have asked care homes to start accepting Covid patients directly from hospitals as long as they have been in isolation for 14 days and have shown no new symptoms. Hotels will also be used to house patients where they will be cared for with help from voluntary organisations such as St John Ambulance and the Red Cross. The drastic action is being driven by the ever-increasing number of Covid patients in hospital, which now stands at 35,000, up around 20% in the past week. Deaths from Covid-19 grew by 1,243 yesterday, the second worst day ever, although ministers played down the suggestion that lockdown rules should be tightened to stop the spread of the disease. Adding to the sense of urgency in the NHS, research has revealed that nearly half of intensive care staff reported symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, severe depression or anxiety last year.

Mrs. Lak found a chart showing all U.S. states and their associated COVID regulations. Only Missouri and Florida had none. We're looking into a road trip to Missouri. Do you know they have more "World's Largest Whatever" than any other state? World's Largest Route 66 Rocking Chair, World's Largest Ball of Twine, World's Largest Ball of String, World's Largest Bender Robot, World's Largest Coal Shovel, World's Largest Pecan, World's Largest Fork, World's Largest Shuttlecock, World's Largest Goose Statue - I mean it just goes on and on. Plus the World's Smallest Wedding Chapel. THen there's REally Big but maybe not the Biggest in the World - Really Big High Heeled Shore Made of Other Regular Sized Shoes and a Really Big Statue of Praying Hands. There's a Psychiatric Hospital Museum, a replica of the Hubble Telescope, and a replica of Stonehenge!

All just up the road, PLUS lots of country music!
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

World's Largest Ball of String...I must have been near it once. it's only slightly smaller than the World's Largest Ball of String in Kansas.
