They are clearly to blame. Suppose Trump wins the election, then what? Get rid of all of "them": UN, FBI, WHO, CDC, Fauci, Europe, congress. Trump does not work with any of those entities.

They are, but everyone still shifts to blaming Trump.

The US IS at fault a bit, because they used to be the main funders of the WHO. Now that they are out, others can take responsibility.

But the WHO, now without Trump to blame, still has to appear to take its own mistakes seriously. I haven't seen that yet, so I'll assume they are just a normal, thriving team of bureaucrats.

I think trading in hard absolutes is a mistake here. We should also remember that advisors, even scientific advisors, advise but it's politicians in power who make the actual decisions and allocate resources etc. Some masks are better than others in some situations - masks have never been a sure-fire way to not become infected or to not infect others. The primary transmission route is human-to-human but not the only transmission route. The spread of the infection in a population is a function of many things beyond transmission vectors and protective equipment - most of which regular folks have little or no control over. As I say, hard absolutes are unhelpful and misleading and one should take a hard look at anyone who might be forwarding those kinds of ideas.
