It's official!

You can be vaccinated with any vaccine and have some risk. One in a million gets a blood clot.

Wonder if the infected (no vaccine) people get a blood clot? We have tens of millions to track for that.

All J&J clot victims were women so far.

I suspected as much. The vaccine simply reflects some aspect of the virus itself:
Risk of blood clots is higher from Covid than from J&J shot, says doctor who worked on other vaccine trials

"You're much more likely to clot from the real Covid-19 virus, which is about 1 in 20 people hospitalized or even 1 in 100 recovering at home. That's far more likely," she added on "Squawk on the Street," citing data from industry group Thrombosis Canada.

The "blood clots" seen with the J&J and Astra vaccines are not common blood clots but actually a lack of platelets that causes very dangerous clots in blood vessels in the brain where normal blood clots are actually very rare.

It's complicated. Cancer patients have blood clots too. I would not want to be a doctor dealing with it.

I'm not finding if there were any men:
The EMA said it received reports of 169 cases of the rare brain blood clot by early April, after 34m doses had been administered in the European Economic Area (EEA), adding that most occurred in women under 60 withintwo weeks of vaccination.

In Germany, Christian Bogdan, a member of the country’s vaccine committee, said instances of the condition in women under 60 who had been given the AstraZeneca shot were 20 times higher than would normally be expected,

Son of a bitch. My old man and bro got the J&J a couple weeks ago. :worried:

Old people have a very very very very very very very low risk. Young men have a very very very very low risk. Even young women still have a very very low risk.

The authorities here are saying that the astro zeneca shot is absolutely fine for the over 50's, and only very little risk to people younger than that. I'll have mine, when it's my turn...

Every long haul flight has much higher risk of deep vein thrombosis than the vaccine offers for it's rare outcome.

The actual problem of the Astrazeneca vaccine is not its side-effects but a huge problem is that it is not that effective against the variants that developed in South Africa and South America.

The problems caused by the Astrazeneca / J&J are not comparable to deep vein thrombosis. It's similar to Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heparin-i ... ocytopenia

People under 50 won't get the Astra zeneca. They'll get the Pfizer.
