You're happy, because it means the UK is going to go further down the gurgler.

I am not happy. I saw it two years ago but no Corbyn would win FFS. You dont drag a guy from the back benches who has voted over 500 times against party policy and make him leader. That is pure mental.

It will not swing again Jim. Labour is finished thanks to Corbyn.
I wonder how Johnson thinks this will give him more power at the Brexit negotiations? Nothing changes. The EU will just get tougher. The FTA agreement with the USA will be a disaster for the UK. The NHS will be sold off. It will increase inequality even further. Once again the system has served the tories well. The actual popular vote has not changed that much but the system does not reflect it but extreme results are the result.
Why is this forum so quiet? This is the worse night in modern UK political history. Of course there are a few Corbynites here.

You make more noise on your own than this forum needs.

I don't care what you think about Corbyn. To my mind any Labour government is preferable to a Tory one, regardless of who their respective leaders are. A significant factor contributing to the Labour Party's loss is the media. They've been demonising Corbyn and the party relentlessly for years.

Just a few of dozens of examples:

Well using 2017 front pages is a great idea (not).

If you listen to the real political pundits it was Corbynism and Brexit that were the two main factors. Corbyn was a liability from day one of his election.
He has been a useless leader and never bothered the tories once. Also the electoral system once again served the tories well. They only got 45% of the vote which means they should not be in power but the ludicrous UK gerrymandered system has given them this massive majority. Now the will gerrymander it even more just like Macmillan did in the 50's.

Just saw the popular vote results. In any true democracy using PR Labour and LibDems would be forming a coalition government. The tories have 45%, Labour 33% and LibDems 12%. That is how ridiculous the UK system is. No MP has won a seat with a majority of the vote. Most win with only 30% of the vote. Great democracy. Of course the tories will never change the system and they also have the HoL. What a fucking system.

I did write "They've been demonising Corbyn and the party relentlessly for years", but in case you are implying that perhaps the media have eased off on the demonisation of Labour in general and Corbyn in particular, here are some more recent front pages:

The UK media seems to me to be more strident in their party political messaging than the Oz media...
