Same word - new meaning game

So some of our words have changed meaning recently.

'Nationalist' used to mean a positive thing - someone loving and supporting their country (or supporting the idea of nations ruling themselves over global government)
'Cis-gendered' is more concept than new word, but it basically vilifies the normal.

There is a big list, but I'm hoping to guess at which words will be turned into insults next.

I'm guessing 'taxpayer' will be vilified.

Maybe 'retiree' will be turned into an insult about taking too much from the system.

What else is going to be an insult in the next year or so?

Gay? Nietzsche once published a bunch of essays under the title of Die fröhliche Wissenschaft, which was translated as The Gay Science. Yes, once upon a time 'gay' just meant 'joyful'.

Less well known is the change of meaning the word 'nice' has undergone. From the Online Etymology Dictionary:

late 13c., "foolish, stupid, senseless," from Old French nice (12c.) "careless, clumsy; weak; poor, needy; simple, stupid, silly, foolish," from Latin nescius "ignorant, unaware," literally "not-knowing," from ne- "not" (from PIE root *ne- "not") + stem of scire "to know"

Keep that in mind next time I say you are nice.

I had an Uncle John whose family nickname was 'Gay' because he was always happy and carefree.

I cannot get used to the 'modern' corrupt (IMO) meaning.

Hyperbole (the language equivalent of everything being turned up to eleventystupid) has changed the meaning of a number of words.

‘Awsome’ used to be reserved for miracles, supernova, and at a push, nature doing its worst. Now it seems to be used to describe one’s moderately agreeable cup of coffee or behaps a crispy bit of bacon.

The meaning of 'literally' has expanded enormously. A recent example I read a couple of days ago: "I literally died when..."
