An example of "an increasing leftist media" creating "an increasingly left-wing bubble" for the "increasingly harsh and often violent rhetoric coming from" the "increasingly extremist Democratic Party" to be heard.

The danger of this "left-wing bubble" created by the "leftist media" with the cooperation of "the nation's education system, which regularly shovels out left-wing economic ideas to impressionable young students" cannot be overstated. As "the Democratic Party had moved dramatically to left" chiefly because "the leadership of the party has veered further to the left" under the tutelage of "far-left Sen. Warren", it only takes one stumble by Trump to "create an opening for a far-left Democratic presidential candidate in 2020". We already see "an aggressively left-wing base" from which "the increasingly extremist Democratic Party will have the opportunity to impose its radical agenda on the rest of the country."

I could write a third paragraph, centred on the keyword socialism, but I think some of you already got the drift, which is: If you repeat emotionally charged, scary looking labels often enough, people will get the impression that, indeed, the sky is falling. It certainly worked on Coito Two. Now he is trying to pass his state of mind on to us.

Anyway, it's really Cultural Marxism that's to blame for the ills of the west! Tangentially ...

A communist infiltrated the New York alt right, mainly groups centered around something called the Daily Stormer Book Club and The Right Stuff podcast. He didn't find anything particularly surprising in my opinion (it's well established that they champion repugnant and creepy ideas) but he did observe how various alt-right groups are interacting with each other these days. Of course, his analysis is informed by his own political views.

'Three Months Inside Alt-Right New York'
The alt-right did not emerge in response to the stupidity of marginal internet liberalism, as Angela Nagle suggests in Kill All Normies. Rather it is a response to decades of decline in standards of living for working people, amid the proliferation of unemployment and meaningless, dead-end jobs. Moreover, no coherent leftist movement exists through which everyday people can make sense of this world and collaborate across lines of race and gender to build a better one. As a result, many of those who reject the status quo blame their problems on immigrants, feminism, trans rights, and other bogeymen, rather than the capitalist social relations from which the problems facing working people inevitably proceed.

Interesting that some lefties (sorry, leftist scum) here have argued that xenophobia/bigotry is the primary driver behind Trump and others (I think you might have argued that, L'Emmy). I've been a proponent of the idea, similar to that presented above, that is - disenfranchisement and poverty and/or financial insecurity is the primary reason people are increasingly deserting the establishment and voting for whatever the alternative is.

Perhaps their feelings have been hurt?

'More Young NSW Nationals resign over alt-right push'
At least 15 members of the NSW Young Nationals have resigned following an investigation by the ABC’s Background Briefing program into an alt-right push inside the party.

They include at least four men identified in the investigation as being involved in a plot by Australia’s alt-right movement to join and influence major political parties.

Those men are: Clifford Jennings, Oscar Tuckfield, Michael Heaney and Thomas Brasher.

The group resignations were sent in two letters emailed to the NSW executive of the National Party on Wednesday afternoon.

...

The Background Briefing report from earlier in October revealed members of the NSW Young Nationals had been attending a secret men’s only fight club set up by some of the country’s most prominent alt-right nationalists.

It also revealed the existence of a Facebook group, called The New Guard, where members of the Young Nationals who described themselves as fascists shared plans to shake up mainstream politics.

More NSW Young Nationals were found to be sharing alt-right jokes, references and conspiracy theories online.

The Nationals really are a joke of a party. I can't see much future for them. They do nothing and represent their electorates really badly.

nights have drawn in, the rains have come, and it is time to start unveiling some of the lines in the Lost in Showbiz Winter Collection. Let me say right now that one of our absolute key pieces will be Jordan Peterson.

Quite how it’s taken this column so long to alight lovingly on the winningest public intellectual of our age is unclear, but please now consider me officially very into him. This week, I read Jordan’s most famous book, 12 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter, and found it an absolute scream. Forgive me – the opus is actually called 12 Rules For Life, but it certainly forced me to tear down every other thought leader poster peeling off my bedroom wall. I am highly excited to get around to Jordan’s only other published book, some kind of vast theory of everything which took him 12 years to write. Oscar Wilde wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray in about a fortnight, so imagine how much better Jordan B Peterson’s Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief is going to be.

But we race ahead. Are you even familiar with Peterson? A University of Toronto psychology professor, his raging stage show involuntarily reminds me of that incredibly moving speech from The South Park Movie: “This is aboot dignity. This is aboot respect. [Laughter] This is aboot – [More laughter] What’s so goddammed funny?” Anyway, you may simply know Jordan as “the lobster guy”, after his most famous proposition/abstraction: the idea that lobsters and their serotonin levels explain why human hierarchies exist and are good. But were better in the 1950s. Put simply, you’re really doing this wrong if your first thought on seeing a lobster is: “I’d like to eat this thing, not surrender my abortion rights to it.”

Owing to his sell-out speaking tours, huge YouTube following and multimillion book sales, Peterson is frequently described as a “Pied Piper” of angry and disaffected men – though my understanding of the original Pied Piper was that he took all his followers away into some kind of mountain from which they never returned. Yes please! Except, how come Peterson’s followers continue to wander around our metaphorical Hamelin, explaining stuff like there is no patriarchy because of crustaceans? Can we try DynoPest instead?

Anyway, Peterson is also a leading member of the arseoisie, or the “intellectual dark web”, as they prefer it. Again, are you familiar with the “intellectual dark web”? I do hope not. It’s a self-styling by a loose group of soi-disant intellectuals you’d cross continents to avoid having a pint with (although they didn’t go with that tagline in the end). There isn’t space for a full passenger manifest, but they include Peterson, talkshow host Dave Rubin, Newsweek columnist and perma-pundit Ben Shapiro and a bunch of other people bizarrely obsessed with what students do, even though we’ve known since time immemorial that students often act like idiots, and mostly grow out of it unless they’re Hamlet or whatever. Think of the intellectual dark web as a very whiny superhero team. Marvel’s A-Whingers. Guardians of the Galaxy Brains. The League of Extraordinarily Fragile Gentlemen.

Like the rest of the gang, Peterson apparently imagines himself “locked out” of the mainstream media, despite having sold 2m books and being interviewed every 10 minutes by actual international media outlets. I can’t help feeling that Jordan is “locked out” of the mainstream media in the same way that Justin Bieber is “locked out” of pop music.

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyl ... tzNKI47WhQ

An unhealthy obsession with students? Who does that remind us of? :ask:
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

They'll be around for as long as there are rural voters. In 2008 they did merge on the state level with the so called liberals in Queensland, but that was a special case. Queensland has always been 'special'.
