Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

The police in Seattle were threatening to quit rather than get vaccinated. My son lives there and says the local reaction was: go right ahead. We don't need to defund you now. Good riddance.

There are a few Aussie police saying the same thing, but only a small minority. I guess it's probably the same 5 or 6 percent of anti-vaxers that exist in the population as a whole...

If you were talking about a vaccine for something other than a pandemic, many people would wait a couple of years and then get it. It's the same with vaccines for kids. Let those other kids test it first. A selfishness that is quite common. A small part of them will turn into antivaxxers as a result of social media. It's a terrible thing, it never happened with books and newspapers.

More of that love of freedom of speech which makes the right so convincing to discerning individuals.
Red states should outlaw the purposed teaching of Communism in every form except in a strictly critical academic way on the grounds that it is antithetical to the United States Constitution. This would eliminate Critical Race Theory and Comprehensive Sex Education.

Egad, you failed to note that this is based on findings from the SPLC. Those horrible people cannot be trusted, especially when it comes to surveying hate groups in the US, as one Forty Two was wont to remind us. :hehe:

As for Montana, unless you're working there or are a nature lover (in which I include hunters and fishers) there's not much reason to stop in the first place. Some nice country though, mostly in the western third of the state.

'The 10 US states with the most hate groups'
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which defines a hate group as an organization that attacks or maligns an entire class of people, tracks the number of active hate groups in the country each year.

According to the civil rights organization's estimations, the top 10 states with the most hate groups in 2020 per capita are: Montana, Tennessee, Nebraska, Arkansas, New Hampshire, Alabama, Virginia, South Carolina, Idaho, and Nevada.

Montana has six hate groups, including two anti-Muslim groups, two white nationalist groups, a racist skinhead organization, and a chapter of the Proud Boys — a self-described brotherhood of Western chauvinism that spreads “anti-political correctness” and “anti-white guilt” agenda, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

...

Almost 85 percent of Montana’s population is white, according to the U.S. Census.

In total, there are 838 hate groups in the country. Compared to 2018, which had 1,020 active hate groups, there has been a decrease. However, groups are communicating online through encrypted platforms making it more difficult to trace.

Well, you could be a Zappa fan driving through, looking for the pony and the dental floss fields.

For the record, Zappa never played Montana. He played 45 plus US states, but the college in Montana is too small. Missoula, where the college is, has a population of 120 000.

'How many elections are they going to steal before we kill these people?'
Opinion: A young man at a Turning Point USA rally publicly asks when he can start killing Democrats for stealing the election. Donald Trump and Republican leaders own this.
The young man stepped to the podium to ask Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk a question.

“At this point, we're living under corporate and medical fascism. This is tyranny. When do we get to use the guns?” the man asked, to applause from the crowd. “No, and I’m not – that’s not a joke. I’m not saying it like that. I mean, literally, where’s the line? How many elections are they going to steal before we kill these people?”

Kirk quickly denounced the man’s comments, which came on Monday during a Boise State University stop on Kirk's Exposing Critical Racism speaking tour. (1:12:30 on the video or read a full transcript on Media Matters.)

"While the church’s previous controversies have centered on its founder and pastor, Douglas Wilson, a new generation of male church leaders – including Wilson’s son – have found ways to expand the church’s reach in Moscow and beyond, even gaining footholds in mainstream popular culture in the broader US."
