'Infrastructure week' became a joke during the previous American administration. It was always just around the corner, as so many things are when Trump is involved. Maybe Trump can't claim credit for that though. Investing in infrastructure is apparently considered a problematic thing by Republican legislators during a Democratic administration. Perhaps it doesn't matter what party is in the White House--if it's not tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy or vote suppression, they're not interested.

'McConnell Says No Republicans Will Support Biden's Infrastructure Plan'
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday pledged to wage a brutal, partisan fight over President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion infrastructure proposal, the latest sign that Democrats will likely have to resort to reconciliation in order to get it through Congress.
Despite the name, budget reconciliation is a route to getting the bill passed without Republican support, just like the COVID relief bill was.

Biden taking baby steps up to elevator now. He had an umbrella and a briefcase, so he could not grab the handrail. Meanwhile, Romney falls down

Gaetz even Trumpier than Trump:NYT

"In encounters during 2019 and 2020, Mr. Gaetz and Mr. Greenberg instructed the women to meet at certain times and places, often at hotels around Florida, and would tell them the amount of money they were willing to pay, according to the messages and interviews.

One person said that the men also paid in cash, sometimes withdrawn from a hotel ATM.

Some of the men and women took ecstasy, an illegal hallucinogenic drug, before having sex, including Mr. Gaetz, two people familiar with the encounters said.

In some cases, Mr. Gaetz asked women to help find others who might be interested in having sex with him and his friends, according to two people familiar with those conversations. Should anyone inquire about their relationships, one person said, Mr. Gaetz told the women to say that he had paid for hotel rooms and dinners as part of their dates."

It's a conspiracy by the cool kids (pace, Tero).

'Matt Gaetz Claims Sex Trafficking Allegations Stem From Powerful Enemies In Ms. Bassman’s Geometry Class'
Dismissing the accusations as a conspiracy by his political opponents to take him down, Rep. Matt Gaetz reportedly claimed Friday that allegations of sex trafficking levied against him stemmed from powerful enemies in Ms. Bassman’s geometry class. “These spurious and completely false rumors are clearly the work of Madison and Brianna,” said Gaetz (R-FL), adding that the text messages and payment receipts supposedly tying him to sex trafficking suggested that the conspiracy against him went all the way to the area near the window where the popular kids sat. “I’ll bet Caroline helped spread it, and all because I didn’t invite her to that rager last weekend. All that FBI stuff is obviously Caroline’s work, although I wouldn’t be surprised if her Spanish study group is in on it as well. They’re devious and super petty. That whole sophomore crowd is nothing but trouble, and Lucas and Haley have always had it out for me. Jessica too, even though it’s been over a year and I already apologized.

Taylor-Greene is a businesswoman who lets others do all the work of running a business:
Greene was working as a part-time coach at CrossFit On The Move, an Alpharetta gym owned by Jim Chambers, who said that CrossFit "had kind of taken her life over", adding, "She had a lot of time and a lot of money" and a vague ambition "to run a gym".[1] In August 2013, Greene co-founded a CrossFit gym, CrossFit Passion, in Alpharetta along with then-22-year-old Travis Mayer, before later selling the business.

She and CrossFit have parted ways.

Mike Lee:Why does
@MLB
still have antitrust immunity? It’s time for the federal government to stop granting special privileges to specific, favored corporations—especially those that punish their political opponents.

Also conservatives: That private company is doing something we don’t like, we have to use the government to stop them!

Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, one of former US president Donald Trump's strongest supporters, says he has no plans to resign, amid an ongoing investigation into whether he violated US laws against sex trafficking.

In the latest setbacks for the 38-year-old congressman, his communications director abruptly resigned and prominent Republicans stayed silent, refusing to be drawn into a deepening scandal.

Owning the libs with the awesome power of the non sequitur.

'First corporate communism came for the anti-vaxxers, and I said nothing, because I'm not an abject imbecile ...'

'Marjorie Taylor Greene blasts COVID-19 vaccine passports: "Biden's mark of the beast"'
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday called vaccine passports “Biden’s mark of the beast” during a Facebook livestream.

In the almost 20-minute video posted to the social media platform, Greene claimed that the Biden administration was seeking to require that all Americans who receive vaccination be documented.

“Is this something like Biden’s mark of the beast because that is really disturbing and not good,” the Georgia representative said.

...

Greene alleged that a coronavirus passport was a form of "corporate communism" that would ruin patients' HIPAA rights.

“It’s still fascism, or communism, whatever you want to call it, but it’s coming from private companies,” Greene added on the Facebook stream. “So, I have a term for that. I call it ‘corporate communism.’ ”

If it involves underage girls, then it becomes something of public (and perhaps legal) interest.

Yeah, Ed Buck just had bad luck, with his 'consenting humans' dying on him...
