The vaunted 'freedom to choose for individuals' which is in reality a line of bullshit enabling oppression. That's OK though, because it's aimed at those horrible, nasty types that mistakenly differentiate between sex and gender, and other damned perverts. The socialist, woke Democrats would never take such a commendable stance in support of freedom. Go, freedom!

'Montana GOP Lawmakers Pass Discriminatory Anti-LGBTQ "Religious Freedom" Bill'
Lawmakers in the Montana House and Senate have passed a “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” bill that will allow any person or business to discriminate against anyone for any reason if not doing so would violate their religious beliefs.

House Democrats supported an amendment that would not allow the law to be used to discriminate but Republicans refused to support it.

“Do not make me NOT do what my God tells me I have to do,” Republican Rep. John Fuller, opposing the amendment, said during Thursday’s debate, the AP reports.

“The LGBTQ community opposes the bill, arguing it could lead to challenges against ordinances in several cities that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression,” the AP adds. “The Montana Human Rights Act does not prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.”

The Human Rights Campaign says the bill is “similar” to the “religious freedom” bill then-Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed into law, causing nationwide outrage.

“This bill is so sweeping and so dangerous that under it, LGBTQ Montanans could be denied access to PREP and PEP and other life-saving medications by pharmacies,” HRC said via Twitter.
Doesn't the Christian god command that if your kids disobey you, you should take them to the edge of town and stone them to death? I think that violates some constitutional rights.

One thing at a time, and ensuring that Christians needn't sully themselves by having anything to do with 'certain types' is a priority for Republicans.

To Trump or not to Trump:
As Playbook and the New York Times have reported, Trump has become a complication for donors. They don’t want their money going toward his retribution efforts. Remember: These are exorbitantly wealthy people — some with egos as big as Trump’s — and they are not interested in hearing about how another rich guy had his ego bruised. The fact that they even had to shuttle from the Four Seasons resort where the retreat was being held to Mar-a-Lago for Trump’s speech was enough of a sign of fealty to Trump, donors told us.

Trump’s lack of interest in the state of the Republican Party also creates a problem for fundraising: Per the NYT, Trump’s new fundraising enterprise has $85 million in cash on hand, while the RNC has $84 million. This comes just days after the RNC officially responded to a cease-and-desist demand from Trump’s lawyers over the use of his likeness for fundraising.

Calculating woman:
Here's Haley's calculation: If Trump does run again in 2024, he will be nearly impossible to beat because of his immense popularity within the GOP. If he doesn't run again, then she will need to have Trump (or at least the Trump base) on her side. And in order for that to happen, she had to make nice with Trump. And that's what she tried to do on Monday.

"We turned to data from the American National Election Studies, one of the most respected and longest running nationally representative surveys of public opinion in the United States, a source commonly used by political scientists."

The 49% that Romney labeled "not us" voted for him.

"The biggest single-year increase in the White working-class’s share of GOP voters came in 2012, when Mitt Romney was the party’s nominee. Since Romney, the share of White working-class people among GOP voters hasn’t budged. Lower-income White voters without college degrees aren’t a majority of Republican voters, and they aren’t increasing as a share of GOP voters."

In any women's sporting association, at any level, the choice to allow or disallow trans women from competing should be left totally to the women in that competition. Outside bodies should have no role in either compelling their inclusion or forbidding it.

It's a complicated issue Jim, but someone will be along shortly to reduce it to a simplified, pithy aphorism.

Area town finds way to annoy liberals
B29DAF66-2897-465C-BC0E-E8C5D02FDC00.jpeg
There is no clinic in that town or within 100 miles. Abortion clinics are in Omaha, Lincoln and a few points West. Around the middle of the state you are better off driving West to Denver for the abortion.
Curious how they would find your illegal abortion pills. Pharmacies are able to keep that private.
