It's the last days of the Guns, Babies n' Jesus Republican party. I wish I could see the end.

Sadly, they are following a scorched earth strategy on their way out.
But they're not on their way out. While it's true that they represent an ever decreasing proportion of the electorate, because of the electoral college, the grossly disproportionate distribution of senators, and the Republicans' willingness to basically go to war against democracy itself means that their grip on power isn't decreasing even as their numbers dwindle. The truly scary part of this situation is that it's the moderates that keep leaving, so the party keeps getting more extreme as it shrinks, but instead of losing power as they would in a normal country, they are able to hold on to it thanks to our badly broken and outdated system of government.
'Ever decreasing' perhaps, but still a significant portion of the population of the US, and one that has become more entrenched and resistant to accepting compromise, or even acknowledging that those who don't agree with them are 'real' Americans.

The Republican Party: Providing incentive for literary achievement and capitalism, and lying about it. A great American institution.

'Republican National Committee spent nearly $100K on Donald Trump Jr.'s book: report'
According to a new filing with the Federal Election Commission, the Republican National Committee spent almost $100,000 on bulk purchases of Donald Trump, Jr.'s book "Triggered" as part of an incentive scheme for Republican donors.

The filing shows the Republican National Committee spending $94,800 at the bookstore "Books-A-Million" for "donor mementos," on Oct. 29 a few days before Trump's book was released on Nov. 5.

At the Books-A-Million retail price for "Triggered" of $30.00, that would be about 3,160 copies of the book.

Mike Reed, an RNC spokesman, explained to The New York Times that the expenditure at Books-A-Million had gone toward copies of Trump's book.

"The book has been hugely popular," he said, noting that the RNC had made additional purchases of the book in November.

Last week, another RNC spokesman, Steve Guest, said in a statement to the Associated Press the book had been purchased as a fundraising incentive for donors, but that the book was bought "to keep up with demand" instead of a "large bulk purchase."

Speaking of batshit crazy....

Republican running to challenge Rep. Ilhan Omar has Twitter account permanently suspended
A Republican candidate running to challenge Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota had her Twitter account permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter rules, according to a Twitter spokesperson.

Danielle Stella says she was banned for a tweet in which she spread a baseless claim about Omar and said if the claim is true, Omar should be tried for treason and hanged, according to a post to her Facebook account. Two Twitter accounts of Stella's have been suspended, her campaign confirmed to CNN.

Omar has been a frequent target of smears and attacks by President Donald Trump and his supporters. In April, Omar said she experienced an increase in death threats after Trump tweeted about a speech she had given the month before.
I guess she's trying to stand out from her GOP primary opponents. She may be succeeding.
