I heard you can't go into a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin Donuts restaurant without a slight Indian accent. Is that wrong?

I read the title as "Trump engaged in suspect sex scenes as he raped... ", then I gulped and rubbed my eyes before re-reading it.

The "long sold himself as a self-made billionaire" are not Trump's words - they're the words of his political opponents. They even say he announced himself to be a "self made billionaire when he was elected - but they don't quote him, because he didn't say it. It's their narrative.Seabass wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 7:27 pmScot Dutchy wrote: ↑ Here is the NYT special investigation into the Trump's fortunes. It is a long read.
Trump Engaged in Suspect Tax Schemes as He Reaped Riches From His FatherThe president has long sold himself as a self-made billionaire, but a Times investigation found that he received at least $413 million in today’s dollars from his father’s real estate empire, much of it through tax dodges in the 1990s.
Nevertheless, he has never denied starting out with money from his dad, and by 1988, he was reported in the New York Times as being worth about $3 billion (after buying the Plaza Hotel for $390,000,000). The times is suggesting that receiving money from his parents' estate in the 1990s somehow renders his accomplishment of becoming a billionaire in the 1980s insufficient in some way?
Who fucking cares?
Read the article carefully folks - note the wording - "suspect" and "dubious" tax schemes. I.e., the NYT doesn't know if they're lawful or not, but they dub them "suspect" (suspicious) or "dubious" (doubtful). That should send up a red flag right there - with all due respect to the tax and accounting expertise of David Barstow, Susan Craig, and Russ Boettner -- given the track record of journalists when commenting on professional activities - law, finance, engineering, science - they tend to not know what the fuck they're talking about.
The Times has been pouring over 4 decades of Trump tax returns.... how did they get them? Nobody cares. Oh, well, onward - they have them - so, I'm sure the proof that Trump has financial and business ties to Russia are in there. The Times just failed to mention that bit. Probably will come out later.
But the bogus nature of the article jumps right out anyone with a brain when they say that the elder Trumps should have paid $550,000,000 in taxes on more than a billion in assets transferred over time to their kids - because "inheritance" tax would have been 55% at the time. Only, the reason these things don't get taxed as "inheritance" is because inheritance occurs at death. So, the NYT says it's dubious and suspect to avoid inheritance taxes by using legal transfer vehicles to handle asset transfers before death.
The article goes through a long dissertation about valuations, saying that the valuations done by the Trumps "may" have been a problem under tax law. But, they show that the IRS audited the matters, and ended up approving it at the time. They talk about Fred Trump splitting ownership of real estate properties and how, depending on "timing" this could be a problem, but isn't generally a tax problem.
You get to the end, and really what the Times tries to establish is not illegal tax filings or actions, but rather they go through about three times in the article that they think Trump got a lot of money from his wealthy parents.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

I've come to think a lot more of Trump since seeing all this criticism about him.
More and more, by failing to prove any wrongdoing, his detractors are proving there just isn't anything to find.
I mean, except locker room talk, and being mean to reporters...

I've got one of those, and use it every day. I can't imagine life without mine, though it's a reality for some poor sods.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Tero probably prefers the cleaner 'no asshole' method of living. It may be a better choice, but then you can never again have a shit-gasm.

I've never witnessed a shit-gasm. Have you a link on youporn or something?
Re: "The butt of global jokes": who might this be? (Talk Trump)
I tried to upload one, but the beginner account on youtube only allows 15 minute videos...speeding it up made it FAR less sexy.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.
