Jesus, imagine a Florida Saltwater Redneck crossed with an Inland Georgia Redneck. We can only hope they're sterile, like mules.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Despite obtaining a warrant authorizing them to install covert surveillance cameras in the spa brothel, a judge has decided police overstepped their bounds; the American football team owner Robert Kraft's 'reasonable expectation of privacy' makes the video evidence of his cavorting with the staff inadmissible.

'Judge grants Robert Kraft’s motion to suppress video evidence'
A Palm Beach County judge granted Robert Kraft’s motion to suppress video evidence in his solicitation of prostitution case, via multiple reports.

That means the prosecution cannot use surveillance video obtained by police from inside a Jupiter, Florida, day spa, giving the Patriots owner a major victory Monday.

Kraft is one of dozens of men accused of receiving illicit massages at the Orchids of Asia spa in January. He has pleaded not guilty to first-degree misdemeanor charges.

Authorities used the video surveillance within the spa as evidence, and Kraft’s legal team argued their warrant was lacking. The judge threw it out on grounds Kraft had a reasonable expectation of privacy, WPTV reports.

Kraft’s attorneys now could file a motion to dismiss as court filings show “covert surveillance video” and “body worn camera” videos are the main pieces of evidence gathered against Kraft, WPTV reports.

The state can appeal the decision, dismiss the charges or take it to court. Its chances to win in court, though, took a hit with the judge’s decision Monday.
I expect many of the mobsters convicted on covert surveillance video evidence over the years had a 'reasonable expectation of privacy' when discussing their crimes in private clubs (for instance). I wonder how many of them have managed to get video evidence suppressed through this ruse.

Florida woman arrested after turning in her husband’s guns
A Florida woman was arrested after she brought her estranged husband’s guns to the cops in fear he would use them against her.

Courtney Irby, 32, made the move after her husband, Joseph Irby, was taken to jail for trying to run over her with a car. The couple is in the midst of a divorce.

Courtney Irby said she went to Joseph’s apartment in Lakeland, Florida, searched for his guns and brought them to cops.

“He wasn’t going to turn them in, so I am doing it,” she told the cops, according to the Lakeland Ledger.

When officers contacted the husband, who was still in the Polk County Jail, he insisted they press charges. She was charged with armed burglary of a dwelling and two counts of grand theft of a firearm.

“We have to safeguard every citizen’s rights,” Police Chief Ruben Garcia said.
So I guess she should have bought her own guns, eh? :smoke:

burglary of her own home and detention of firearms she was turning in? god, tell me those absurdities won't stick.

The husband might have more of a ground if he presses charges for the theft of his guns.

I think they had separated, but the case is still weird.
