Re: Qanon
That's what Qanon revealed at Parler.
So you talk about mobs and the working classes as if they were the question. You've got that eternal idiotic idea that if anarchy came it would come from the poor. Why should it? The poor have been rebels, but they have never been anarchists; they have more interest than anyone else in there being some decent government. The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all. Aristocrats were always anarchists. - G.K. Chesterton

That's what you get when you mix Agatha Christie and blotter acid.

Re: Qanon
Most Parler members don't need no steenkin' blotter acid. They are there because their synapses have already been short-circuited.

Free speech, as long as it involved racist, right-wing tropes...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!

Re: Qanon
I'm just exaggerating. Parler having the app, then getting undone by google, is the end of them. At least it is my prediction.
But hey, I've been wrong before.

Re: Qanon
You can access Parler on any phone without a Google app. Any browser will get you there.

Re: Qanon
Funny, the latest rumour, found on any browser...
The Parler app is getting removed from the Apple store
The Parler app is getting removed from the google play store
To top it off Parler is getting its web servers shut down because they use AWS (Amazon Web Services)

Re: Qanon
Damn free enterprise. There should be a law against it.
I'm sure Parler is going to find servers that will accommodate their needs. Stormfront did.

Re: Qanon
I understand many treasure stormfront as the worst of the internet, but it isn't.
In fact, the only 'white nationalist' I can name, is the Spencer chap, and I think he might have endorsed a presidential candidate this go-round.
Anyway, there are two real problems ruining any free speech platform. One of them is simple...if you squeeze out all the 'outs', will be lined up to go to the new place. Then, all the normal people, stay where they were. The new place (gab, parler, minds, xephula, 8chan etc.) will fill up with a distilled membership of outcasts. Guess what - they are outcast often for good reason.
So starting something meant to be free, is heavily influenced by angry idiots.
Then you come to keeping it going. 8chan is a great case-study for anyone who thinks they know how to keep a free speech website up.
I couldn't. (for many reasons) I think a country couldn't.

What you or I think about Stormfront is irrelevant to the post you are inexplicably quoting.Cunt wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 7:32 amI understand many treasure stormfront as the worst of the internet, but it isn't.
