He came from nowhere, and beat all the Republicans, and Hilary Clinton.

I can't stand him, but I still have to admit, he pulled off an incredible win.
And he does speak well. To half of America. You don't pull off that sort of achievement without making a connection.

I'm still waiting for the wall. :funny:

What other politician could get away with the promises that he made about the wall? Nobody on his side seems to mind in the least. They just say, "it's Donald, he meant it at the time".
But of course, he is is the underdog, don't we all love them!
But in my eyes, he is as establishment as establishment can be, the whole party he is representing is establishment. He came up with a great frame, Make-America-great, while Hillary's was Trump-is-an-idiot, we can learn something from him, agree, but he is not the underdog.

He's obviously not an underdog in the social sense. But he WAS a huge underdog in the presidential race sense. Even to win the Republican nomination was a huge upset. Billionaires have tried running before and got nowhere.

Mostly, he had the knack of saying what a huge rump of America was thinking, and Hilary made the mistake of talking it down and deriding it or calling it nasty names.

How are you going to persuade people to vote for you, by calling what they are thinking nasty names?
Of course, Hilary viewed it as attacking Trump, but that's not how the voters saw it. Enough of them, anyway, to swing the vote.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

They were already fired up by then. None of those people were going to vote for her ever. Some made the rare exception in their life, voting at all.

Blacks did not show up or were turned away with no ID.

More ethnic cleansing, I mean "securing borders", from our totally not racist or xenophobic Trump administration.

Civil rights groups criticise US education secretary for saying schools can report undocumented students
‘The Supreme Court has made clear that every child in America has a right to a basic education, regardless of immigration status. Secretary DeVos is once again wrong’

Winning!

'China deploys army of farmers in tit-for-tat trade war with U.S.'
China is aiming to boost domestic production of soybeans by calling on its vast army of farmers to expand soybean acreage and offering greater subsidies to growers such as Rao. It is also diversifying imports away from America.

Since China opened up its economy to global trade in 2001, it has taken advantage of cheap imports of soybeans from the U.S. and other countries.

But after the U.S. hiked tariffs on an initial batch of $34 billion of Chinese goods on Friday, China retaliated with matching tariffs on an equal amount of U.S. imports — including soybeans.

Analysts say the crop was chosen because of the political pain it can cause Trump supporters in his political heartland.

China recently also announced zero tariffs on soybeans from India, Bangladesh and other Asian countries.

Beijing is the biggest buyer of U.S. soybeans, importing some $14 billion last year — or about two-thirds of American farm exports to China.
