From all I've read, the majority of people in Crimea are happy enough to be a part of Russia, but the same won't be true if Putin moves on the Baltic states or the remainder of Ukraine...
Which propaganda rag did you get that from Jim? The Australian equivalent of the Daily Wail?
You mean either of 2 things by this post:

1. The majority of people in the Ukraine and the Baltic sites would be happy to again be a part of Greater Russia.

or

2. Putin has zero intention to or desire for an increase in Russia's territory, particularly those parts that are ruled by the former Soviet Union.

The first would be highly unlikely, and the second would require a naive analysis of Putin...

Of course if you follow American/British propaganda you are only left with those two possibilities. There are plenty others but you would have to take your propaganda blinkers off first.

They've got a snowball's chance in hell of not ending up as 'also rans'... the current regime rehabilitated the Romanovs, and stangely 'forgot' to celebrate the 1917 Revolution... Even though all important people in the regime, not to mention the Oligarchs, are all pure products of the Soviet regime, the communist regime is out of favor at Court, and commies are not going to get far anywhere...

But tradition! Interesting that the communists are the pussycats and Putin throws journalists off balconies. Going back to czarist repression.
