While there is a difference between right wing politicians and stark raving mad Nazi lunatics, describing the average Republican as centre right stretches the definition of "centre" beyond the point of usefulness. The outright refusal to unambiguously condemn members of the right wing lunatic fringe and the continuous dogwhistling by Republican politicians create further difficulties in regarding them as centrists, or even right leaning centrists.

Trump is so evil that we will vote for even a corporate puppet who is 77 years old. Or we will vote for a socialist who is as ancient.

BURLINGTON, VT—Expressing their utter disgust and disappointment over the candidate’s remarks, supporters of presidential contender Bernie Sanders went on the attack Thursday, laying into the Vermont senator for his criticism of mistakes made by the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign. “These deeply misguided comments make it crystal clear that Sanders just doesn’t understand what the Sanders campaign was all about,” said Sanders loyalist and 2016 campaign volunteer Greg Birch, one of the legions of supporters who took to Twitter and Facebook to condemn Sanders as a “centrist phony” and question his motivations for challenging the methods favored by their candidate of choice, Bernie Sanders.

Who doesn't condemn Nazis and racists?

Dogwhistling is in your own head. What it amounts to is that you hear "let's address illegal immigration" and you say "dog whistle for racism!"

That is probably because a large proportion of protests/comments/activism centred on immigration are from people or groups whose main interests is right-wing racism and defending the beleaguered white race...

Of course there are other, more rational reasons for wanting a debate on immigration, but those who want to discuss it in those terms need to make crystal clear their distinction from the racist pack, or they will have strange bedfellows by default...

Well, Trump can't get himself to unequivocally condemn Nazis and racists. A reporter mentioned to him that "The neo-Nazis started this thing" he sidestepped an outright condemnation of Nazis and racists by saying: "Excuse me, they didn't put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides." And again: "The following day, it looked like they had some rough, bad people, neo-Nazis, white nationalists, whatever you want to call ‘em. But you had a lot of people in that group that were there to innocently protest and very legally protest" He coincidentally doubled down on all that just last Friday. When he was asked to comment on his previous remark, he replied: "That question was answered perfectly"

You may hear "let's address illegal immigration". The Nazis and racist fucks hear the dogwhistling bits. Too many of them do to argue that no dogwhistling is happening, and at any rate, Trump could have clarified by now what he means and what he does not mean by clearly, unambiguously and strongly condemning all Nazis and racists. To date he never has. All we ever get is that there are "very fine people on both sides".

Y'all enjoying the circus? Want some more bread? Maybe cheap beer? Kebab?

Galaxian is right, it's all a fucking sham. The Rothenblildertrumparians run the fucking thing and the bit we see is like one of those Indonesian shadow puppet shows. While everybody's arguing over utterly banal inconsequentialities the Alien Overlords are looting the fucking planet and stealing our precious bodily fluids. Hey, YOU get probed for 20 minutes and not contribute some bodily fluid. Just try it.

Who was it that said we were actually an alien reality TV show? Only posted once in a great while. Was that here or at RatSkep?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Trump is polling some 40-45% of the vote in Wisconsin. A Wisconsin paper, 800 were called. They did not say what the percentage was in 2016. I'll look that up.

OK, it was 47.2% Trump/ 46.5% Hillary in 2016.
Trump pulled a win thanks to a Libertarian and Jill Stein. Without Jill Stein, Hillary would have got 47.5%.

Biden attempting to be the working class dude Hillary wasn't:
Biden’s blue-collar bona fides aren’t all that he is relying on. As the other campaigns move more to the left, Biden insiders say it creates a space for him to win the forgotten, moderate voters who have a significant voice in Democratic primaries.

“The Democratic Party and the primary isn’t progressive Twitter,” said one Democrat helping Biden’s campaign. “What you see on social media is distorted.”

Harold Schaitberger, general president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, said his union decided to endorse Biden as soon as he got out of the starting gate because they believe he can win and that he reflects the sensibilities of their working-class members.

“Joe Biden is the candidate in our view that has the voice and the connection with the workers in middle America that abandoned the Democratic candidate in 2016,” Schaitberger said. “I’m very concerned about a Democratic Party lurching too far to the left. They might have high-minded ideals that sound good. But in our view, he’s someone who has the skill set to stay on that middle lane or middle road. He can win. That’s the real bottom line. Who can win?”

The Roger Stone wannabe Jacob Wohl has been caught attempting to stage yet another ridiculous faux scandal. I heard some hipsters in a coffee shop whispering to each other that he's a pathetic shitweasel.

'Far-Right Smear Merchants Try to Slime Pete Buttigieg with Bogus Sex Assault Claim'
A pair of right-wing provocateurs are being accused of attempting to recruit young Republican men to level false allegations of sexual assault against Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg.

The details of the operatives’ attempt emerged as one man suddenly surfaced with a vague and uncorroborated allegation that Buttigieg had assaulted him. The claim was retracted hours later on a Facebook page appearing to belong to the man.

A Republican source told The Daily Beast that lobbyist Jack Burkman and internet troll Jacob Wohl approached him last week to try to convince him to falsely accuse Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, of engaging him sexually while he was too drunk to consent.

The source who spoke to The Daily Beast said Burkman and Wohl made clear that their goal was to kneecap Buttigieg’s momentum in the 2020 presidential race. The man asked to remain anonymous out of a concern that the resulting publicity might imperil his employment, and because he said Wohl and Burkman have a reputation for vindictiveness.
