wisconsin
“There was this perception that the president’s economic strength was based on the stock market or jobs numbers, but when you drilled down a little more and had conversations with people about their own experience, they did not see any benefit from the president's tax law or his opposition to raising the minimum wage,” Roh says.

The plan was to figure out how to convince voters in Wisconsin, on a large scale, that Trump’s handling of the economy was actually worse than they thought. Opportunity Wisconsin and the Hub Project started with a survey of 27,000 voters, designed to identify persuadable Wisconsinites.

Then Opportunity Wisconsin conducted focus groups around the state, trying to identify voters who might be persuadable and the values that mattered to them. They zeroed in on people who were sympathetic to conservative economic ideas but also concerned about what they saw in their own families and communities. For example, some participants talked about the importance of low taxes and reducing regulation, but also complained that the cost of living was rising too quickly and the economy was working only for the wealthy.
Identifying a group of persuadable voters is not the same as knowing both what messages to send them and how to send them. Opportunity Wisconsin found messengers who could speak to local issues around the state—meatpacking in Green Bay, farming in the Driftless Area. A man in Green Bay described being unable to make his rent, even as the company whose factory he worked in got big tax breaks under the 2017 tax cuts. A Wauwatosa woman recounted how she got a second job to pay off her student loans, but then lost both of her jobs due to the pandemic. “President Trump only started to acknowledge this crisis after Wall Street started to suffer,” she said.

Then Opportunity Wisconsin launched a big effort to push these messages out from February to May. The group featured the stories it gathered in videos posted on social media and in paper fliers sent to mailboxes—roughly one a week for 11 weeks, an unusually large volume. Some of the messengers told their stories at gatherings, alongside officeholders such as Senator Tammy Baldwin and Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, both Democrats. (These gatherings were planned to be held in person around the state, but most of them had to be switched to digital because of the pandemic.)

Trump running out of steam. A mere 25 lies in Wisconsin.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/18/politics ... index.html

"Acid washed" emails
Trump claimed again that Hillary Clinton had both deleted and "acid washed" emails.
Facts First: "Acid washed" emails are not a real thing. A company working for Clinton deleted some emails in 2015 using a free software program called BleachBit; Trump has, for years now, turned "bleach" into "acid."

Travel restrictions on China and Europe
Trump claimed again that he "banned" travel from China and Europe to combat the pandemic.
Facts First: While Trump did restrict travel from China and from much of Europe, neither policy was a "ban": both made exemptions for travel from US citizens, permanent residents, many of their families, and some others -- and the restrictions on Europe exempted entire European countries.

The Green New Deal and planes
Trump claimed again that the Democrats' Green New Deal proposal would mean "getting rid of your planes. No more airplane trips."

Election time crazies: no Antifa around, back to the capitol!

Heavily-armed protestors, some waving Confederate flags and Trump campaign banners, stood on the lawn outside the capitol building in Lansing brandishing AR-15 firearms and wearing body armour.

Among those in attendance were members of the Proud Boys—a far-right, all-male organization with a history of violence against political opponents—and the Michigan Liberty Militia, a paramilitary group.

My prediction: Trump and McConnel push thru the judge in Oct. Democrats really pissed off. Record turnout. Biden wins by 30 in electoral college. No recounts.

My state senator is up for her second term. We can only have a serious Dem challenger when she has been in for 8 years. These are the suburban soccer moms voting.

There are30/49 Repulicans. Her accomplishment was an abortion ban. The doctor now has to rip out a whole fetus. It then goes directly to incineration. But in one piece!

Filmmaker Michael Moore warned that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden could be running a “worse” campaign in Michigan than 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who lost the state by less than half a percentage point four years ago.

Moore, a Michigan native, pointed to a Detroit Free Press poll released Friday that showed Biden 8 points ahead of President Trump in the state, down from 16 points in June.

“The fact that Trump has narrowed the lead by 50 percent since June should have everybody screaming bloody murder," Moore said. "We don’t have a minute to lose on this.”

Moore, who has been supporting Democrats in the 2020 elections, said the Biden campaign should work on engaging Black voters in Michigan instead of trying to win over Republicans.

“It’s actually worse than Hillary,” Moore said. “At least there was a ground game, even though she didn’t show up. There were Hillary offices in many towns, there were door-to-door campaigns.”

Moore also referenced a Time magazine article from this week detailing an “invisible campaign” Biden is running in Michigan.

“Yes, we need to do it differently than 2016, but we need to go the other direction,” Moore said. “We need more, we don’t need less.”

Moore is absolutely right. Forget the white people in Michigan. They have all decided. He wanted Biden in Flint and in Detroit to encourage black people to vote. They stayed home for Hillary, nasty woman.

Trump is demanding Biden name his court nominees. It's just a game so he can scare all evangelicals to vote: "Democrats want to dismember and murder babies at term..." etc.

I'm going to guess that Florida goes to Trump. They have a pandemic
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_ ... in_Florida
but seniors are on Medicare, so Obamacare is irrelevant past 65. And this far along, Biden will affect the pandemic very little. The vaccine will come and it will be paid by Medicare.

If Trump wins, though, healthcare costs wil just go up and up for 4 years under Trump...and Pence.

Trump believes the election will be close ("fake ballots") so he in fact wants to have the new judge on the court. To stop mailed ballots etc etc.

If he loses, he also has a last chance to repeal Obamacare in Nov, with his packed court.
