Don't like or use Microsoft's Edge browser? Tough, Microsoft plans to make you use it
In the latest 'Skip Ahead' build (17623) of Windows 10 for its Insiders, the built-in Windows Mail client has been set to open any links within emails with Microsoft Edge, even if you've set the operating system to open up in your preferred browser - Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi or whatever by default.
This time, though, instead of doing it sneekily without telling anyone and then claiming that it was all just a mistake, Microsoft is fronting it out and claiming that it's only doing it in our best interests because the Edge browser (current market share: less than five per cent) is so good.
Etc., etc.
I'm sticking with Win 7 - fuck Win 10...

that's a problem for me, I'm to change computers fairly soon, and only one shop I've consulted with offered to install 7 on the new one, and this even as a dematerialized version... all others propose only win10...

that's my problem with win10 it's made for touch screen devices, and I'm a strictly mouse and keyboard user.

That was a problem of Windows 8. But 10 works great with Mouse and Keyboard. Actually better than Windows 7.

I have 10 and a tower style computer. Works just fine and no nagging about Edge either. Edge isn't bad but I use all the bells and whistles on google/Chrome (with privacy tuned up to 11 of course).

I'm still on XP. Seems fine to me.... never wants to shut down though, I always have to pull the cable out at the wall.

You can select standard desktop display. Touchscreen computers work exactly the same with a mouse and keyboard.

I've gotten so used to the keyboard/screen/touch pad combination I can barely use my old machine.

Don't you hate when you switch from your touchscreen to regular computer and start prodding the screen to no effect? It's like when I sometimes used to slam on the brakes in an automatic, thinking I was driving a manual (which has been 99.9% of my driving) and depressing the clutch.
