I believe that what you're describing does happen 42. However, it is not part of the system. If it is happening at your school then it should be addressed. A good teacher will use differentiated instruction. They can determine their students' abilities in the beginning and use that information to inform their instruction eg students that are ahead of their peers can be given different assignments. Contrary to what some parents believe, the system doesn't have a problem with that. Teachers are allowed to do it and they should be encouraged to do so.
Keep in mind that this is a funding issue as well. If the teacher/school doesn't have the extra support to cater for the kids at the ends of the curve, then there is only so much a single teacher can do. And which side of politics is always cutting funding to education? That's right, it's the conservative side.

Here is the sky-is-falling math result 12th grade from 2005-2015 btw:

Yep, when you look at the changes in the population taking entrance exams you can account for the drop in those scores, and guess what change we're talking about? You guessed it, more people from poorer communities are taking the exams. That's a good thing btw, we just need to work on removing the discrepancy between poor schools and rich schools.

It's somewhat frightening to think of where a philosophy like 42's actually ends up on this issue. To me it gets ugly real fast. You end up with only the deserving being educated by only the best to get the worthy jobs...do you see where this is going?

This year, Democratic support in majority-white suburban counties reached a whopping 42 percent, outpacing the past three election cycles. Republican support, meanwhile, dipped to 57 percent, lower than any previous year dating back to 2012. Challengers Sharice Davids in Kansas and Angie Craig in Minnesota won their elections thanks to Democratic votes in these counties.

Prior to the election, polls indicated that college-educated white women, many of whom live in the suburbs, were disillusioned by Trump and could tip suburban districts to Democrats.

However, Republican women, not independent, have stuck with Trump

This is some olympic-caliber gerrymandering:

Wisconsin was not the only state where the blue wave crashed up against the red gerry-mander-wall:

How many husbands control the votes of their wives? We'll never know

“She lived in a sprawling low-income apartment complex. After I knocked a couple of times, she answered the door with her husband just behind her. She looked petrified and her husband looked menacing behind her. When I made my pitch about Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke, her husband yelled, ‘We’re not interested.’ She looked at me and silently mouthed, ‘I support Beto.’ Before I could respond, she quickly closed the door.”

Annabel told me afterwards, “It’s been on my mind. Did she get beaten? That was my fear.”

There’s a form of voter intimidation that widespread and unacknowledged. It’s the husbands who bully and silence and control their wives, as witnessed by dozens of door-to-door canvassers across the country I heard from.

No surprise people who vote for misogynistic bullies and abusers are so themselves.

Voting is anonymous, so they should be able to vote who they want and tell their husbands they voted for his preferred candidate.

In theory, but some wives may be too scared to lie, feeling that their bullying husbands may detect them...
