Canary Islands La Palma volcano hit by 70 earthquakes sparking emergency response

THE Canary Island of La Palma has been hit by another flurry of earthquakes once again prompting fears the deadly Cumbre Vieja could erupt - just four months after scientists recorded a swarm of more than 200 tremors.

(continued, checking the web-cam half the island is now missing...)

“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

But tsunamis, such as Fukushima, don't need a volcano; a nuclear underwater explosion will do. The power of the bomb would be chosen to suit the height of the tsunami desired:

Trust Galaxian to post a video of pure speculative fiction with science about as accurate as a Hollywood disaster movie. There are regularly earthquakes with many thousands of times more energy released that the biggest nuclear weapons.
