The US President, Donald Trump, has sparked an angry backlash in the UK with a tweet linking a rise in the crime rate to "radical Islamic terror".

He said: "Just out report: 'United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.' Not good, we must keep America safe!"

The Labour MP, Yvette Cooper, chair of the Commons Home Affairs Committee, accused Mr Trump of fuelling hate crime with his "ignorant" comments.
Brits commit hate crimes because Donald Trump says crime rose 13% annually "amid" the spread of Islamic terrorism?

There is a spread of Islamic terrorism, and some of that spread has been in the UK. Apparently, England and Wales crime rate did go up 13%.

What's ignorant, again? And, do people go out and commit hate crimes when they see that kind of tweet?

The most powerful man in the world peddles islamophobia... of course it influences certain people.

No, I'm just saying that he didn't say it was "attributable" to it. So, it's not clear from the tweet that that's what he meant.
Oh bullshit! :funny: Black is white.. black is white..
But, one outraged person did say that Trump was fueling hate crime by tweeting what he tweeted. Is he? Have hate crimes increased because of the same or similar tweets?
The most powerful person in the world spreads irrational hatred. How on earth could you think that wouldn't affect certain people?
Are we really to believe Brits commit hate crimes because Trump tweets about the increase in crime rate occurring amid the spread of islamic terrorism - even if one interprets that to mean cause/effect?
Of course we are, in some cases. That's how propaganda works.

Bullshit. There can be no other intention than to get people to associate "crime rises" with "spread of Radical Islamic terror", especially when both expressions are contained in the same sentence.

You pretend you can't figure that one out either? Though I have called a couple of your posts "disingenuous", I have never called you dishonest or a liar. Until right now. You are (please excuse the tautology) a dishonest fucking liar. :Erasb:

Republicans who pushed multiple investigations for years into the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi have nothing to say on the deaths of four soldiers in Niger.

I really thought 42's absence on this thread was a sign he was taking the time to reflect on his bad purchase and contemplate the irreparable damage he and his ilk have caused to themselves and their country and was going to start growing the fuck up and own his mistake.

Should've known. Irredeemable.

I was thinking about the health insurance bit. Trump and pals want to have young people skip insurance altogether. Because it makes no difference. Sure, some young people will have injuries and die, some will have huge bills. But no matter what, it does not reduce the number of young healthy people available to work. Therefore it does not affect the corporations or Trump. Strictly an economic decision.

Middle age and old people can spend till they are out of money. After all, we do need to have a number of doctors making a living and available to treat the rich. They can just practice and keep up their skills on us till our money runs out.

The way I see it, Trump and his cabal oc scumbags want to drag America back over 50 years. I think it's time the opposition did that too. An old fashioned rebellion is what is needed here. Drag them out on the White House lawn and string 'em up - Mussolini-style.

I'll sit over here in the safety of Ireland watching and cheering. :tea:

Fox
During then-President Barack Obama’s first year in office, 16 people were listed working for Michelle Obama, earning a combined $1.24 million a year.

This year, just four people were listed working for Melania Trump as of June. Their salaries totaled $486,700.

They don't have sex anymore. So maybe Melania has a groping contract. 0,5 million for each grope. The Melania minder is just a witness.

Keep in mind that up until the middle of this past June, Mrs. Trump was enjoying a lovely vacation in Trump Tower from her boorish husband. Perhaps the more time she spends in the White House, the larger staff will be assigned to her. Also, Mrs. Obama was rather active in promoting various initiatives, mostly related to improving the health and nutrition of children.
