That's Obama's debt. Obama's and Hillary's.

Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Re: Republicans
Notsofast withthe tax:
The moderates: Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski
The death of Obamacare repeal was largely due to two moderate, vocal GOP women — Collins and Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — who had also teamed up this year to oppose controversial Cabinet picks and funding for Planned Parenthood.
They could prove equally influential in the coming tax fight.
Collins wants any tax overhaul bill to keep the top 39.6 percent tax rate for individuals making more than $1 million a year, and she sees no need to dump the estate tax that has long been a target of other Republicans.
The elimination of the state and local tax deduction, which has proved to be a big obstacle in the House, is also a concern for Collins, who called it a “double taxation.”
“I’m not drawing lines in the sand,” Collins said in an interview. “I’m trying to shape the package that comes out of the Finance Committee.”
The House plan released Thursday would eventually repeal the estate tax and implement lower limits for the state and local tax break. It would keep the top 39.6 percent level for individuals.

Re: Republicans
Paul Ryan's poster family for middle-class tax cuts would ultimately get a tax hike
https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics ... ss-example
Speaker Paul Ryan’s case for his tax bill makes a very specific claim — that a typical family of four will save $1,182 under this bill.
It is true that the average household in 2016, which the Census Bureau estimates makes made $59,039, would get a tax cut worth about $1,100 in the first year.
chart
This tax hike is a fixable problem. Republicans could make the Family Flexibility Credit permanent, or they could increase the Child Tax Credit, or they could make the Child Tax Credit indexed to inflation. But all of those fixes cost money.
Running the math on these claims reveals exactly what the top priority is in the House Republican tax bill — corporate tax cuts, not tax cuts for middle-class families.

Re: Republicans
Democrats will put up a tax fight. The monies involved deal with Medicare etc. And the tax code has popular deductions rather than being ”too complicated.”

I wonder what 'looser' reform looks like?
A relaxed laissez-faire sort of affair perhaps?
