So government whips have been caught atrongarming Tory MPs into voting with the government on the Brexit bill when they had pairing agreements with other parties to abstain. Devious swine.
:ask: Devious politicians. What a concept. ;)
I know. Whodda thunk it eh?

Brexit: Raab 'sidelined' as May takes control of EU negotiations

Theresa May has taken back control of crucial negotiations with Brussels from her new Brexit secretary just hours after the government published its white paper on withdrawing from the European Union.
I literally laughed out loud when I saw that headline. May. Take control.
:funny:

And Raab seems to have caught the Maybot disease:
He added: “We’ve been very clear – there’s no tension between us, I think that’s clear – that all the advice and all the meetings will be attended by me with the PM and all the advice will come to me.”
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I'm giving the European Research Group 12 hours to formulate their rhetoric and get their mouthpieces into the press.

Raab admits planning to secure food supply for no-deal Brexit
Brexit secretary Dominic Raab has admitted that the government will have to take steps to ensure that there are adequate food supplies for Britain to cover the eventuality of a no-deal departure from the European Union.

In testimony to the Brexit select committee on Tuesday, the minister dismissed claims that the government was stockpiling provisions. However, he acknowledged that it would work with the food industry to ensure that a no-deal outcome would not disrupt supply....

I think May's 'taking back control' move has been long overdue. Internal party politics has demanded that she put someone in charge of negotiating with the EU who fundamentally objects to negotiating with the EU. She's also trying to prove herself worthy and play the Tory hero with a huge political sacrifice, placing the entire responsibility for whatever happens in her own lap and not the party's. I'm sure that'll be a great comfort to her when she's sipping vino on the terrace of her Tuscan villa and wondering about what might have been after B-Day.
