Haven't you seen that documentary where the guy robs the rich to feed the poor?

I'm serious though - the economic argument is a no-brainer. You'd spend less as a nation and the savings could be passed as tax cuts for the working poor. That's the way to get people talking about how it could be something worth trying.
But Americans cheat! Them doctors and officials would all be cortupt in a year. Then Republicans would cut funding for office workers and we could not keep track of who had their foot cut off or didn't.

We are Americans. We corrupt all public offices and officials.

Nobody seems to be disagreeing with you on that one.

I remember my Dad saying we'd never have Socialism in the US, because we weren't honest enough to make it work. :thinks:

Very true Joe. Along with "every man has his price" is the key to American corruption. Also ideas as "screw him before he screws you" is an indication of a bad society. Throw a load of weapons into the mix and there you go.
Fundamental is conflict. Never compromise as only fools and weaklings do that. One great society but just dont ever get sick.

Unless you got Medicare. Then you can get sick all you want and other people pay for it.

It pays to live to 65.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I'm sorry, but Americans on average aren't the same as the rest of the west. We are far less selfish and greedy. Although, Australia isn't that far behind the US.

I don't mean Merkans are inherently like that. But your system breeds selfishness and greed. Merkans are a product of their environment.

Indeed, if we want to talk about differences that result from environment, I'm listening. But even here we have to be careful, and in my opinion, examining these differences will ultimately result in our similarities taking center stage anyway.

NPR:
Under Biden's plan, no one would be required to pay more than 8.5 percent of their income toward health insurance premiums.

But it includes several proposals that Congress has failed repeatedly to enact, including some that were part of the original debate over the ACA. Plus, Biden's plan has some initiatives that are so expansive, it is hard to imagine them passing Congress — even if Democrats sweep the presidency and both houses of Congress in 2020.
