Trump blames the Dems. Says Obamacare is all theirs now and when it inevitably explodes they'll come running to him looking for a healthcare deal for all.

Fucking grade A loser. For the first time in ages some Trump news to genuinely smile about with sincere glee, rather than the usual bitter laughter at his ineptitude masking tears of anguish.

Though presidents rarely get stuff pushed thru, only with a good majority in congress, speakers are supposed to:
Even less successful speakers have been able to corral their caucuses at critical moments. Dennis Hastert and his majority leader, Tom DeLay, pushed through Medicare Part D against strong conservative opposition. Newt Gingrich didn’t get his Contract With America agenda passed, but he did get welfare reform, capital gains cuts, and a balanced budget. Tip O’Neill passed a bill slashing Social Security benefits and raising payroll taxes, and another simplifying the tax code and slashing a variety of popular deductions, even though he couldn’t stop Reagan’s early budget and tax cuts.

This is the job. You have to be able to impose party discipline by crafting proposals that can appeal broadly across your caucus but still stand a chance in the Senate and White House. And when your proposal inevitably prompts dissent, you need to be able to persuade, cajole, or, when necessary, bribe through giveaways to people’s districts in order to secure a majority. The alternative is to just go through the motions without passing anything of real importance, and at that point there’s just no reason to be in politics anymore.

Loser Trump alt facts again: Trump calls Democrats 'losers' after GOP health bill failure
There were other problems, too. Trump never made a real effort to reach out to Democrats, and he was unable to pressure enough of his fellow Republicans. He did not speak fluently about the bill’s details and focused his pitch in purely transactional terms. And he failed to appreciate the importance of replacing Obamacare to the Republican base; for the president, it was an obstacle to move past to get to taxes, trade and the rest of his agenda.

Trump’s advisers thought he could nudge the bill over the finish line by sheer force of personality. “He is the closer,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer boasted on Wednesday.

But by Friday, it was clear that the closer could not close.

They ran up against this unfortunate thing called "reality". The reality is a lot of people are depending on those ACA subsidies and they called their congresscritters. The congress critters, being venal, self-absorbed sociopaths, calculated their odds of being re-elected and decided they'd take a "principled" stand.

I think ACA is here to stay, but probably in a modified version. It's financially untenable at the moment. Whoever comes up with a solution will be in a very good position in 2018 and 2020.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I can actually afford it at my current rate, and will only need it some 2-3 years. Another matter is the insurance company. I want them regulated instead of getting a bill for going to the wrong hospital in the wrong ambulance.

Meh. Fake news, dontcha know? It won't be much longer before Trump starts shutting down the media sources that keep creating those lies and rounding people up for spreading them.

I'll believe it when he resigns or when congress startes the impeachment process.
