Freedom Caucus members and leaders of the outside groups have responded by pulling together to discuss what they could accept and what they could let slide. Their aides came up with a plan to try to loosen Obamacare insurance regulations they believe will lower premiums. And they agreed, if they get the changes written into bill text, that they’d all support a final bill.

The insurance regulation they want to 'loosen' are the obligations on insurers to offer the same cover to people with 'pre-existing conditions', which we in the civilised world call 'sick people', at the same price as cover to non-unwell people, and the tax breaks to insurers and rich policy holders which the ACA sought to limit in order to halt a progression towards using health insurance as an income tax avoidance scam. House Freedom Caucus members are all about enriching the wealthy at the expense of ordinary Americans - it's what they exist for; it's what they're paid to do.

Russian operatives tried to infiltrate Donald Trump’s presidential campaign through his advisers, including former foreign policy aide Carter Page, CNN reported on Saturday.

CNN said this emerged through FBI intelligence gathering, which triggered an investigation into any possible coordination between Trump campaign operatives and Russian officials.

US officials told the news network that it was unclear whether Page, who is being scrutinised as part of a wider probe over Russian efforts to influence the 2016 elections, was aware that Moscow was trying to use him.

A Russian agent would likely have concealed his or her true role or identity while speaking with Page, who himself has vigorously denied any collusion with Moscow.

Page gave a speech critical of US policy toward Russia at a top Moscow university in 2016 that caught the FBI’s attention and raised concerns that he was maintaining contact with Russian operatives and being influenced by them.

Page was one of several Trump advisers who US and European intelligence revealed had been in touch with Russian officials and other Russian agents frequently and extensively enough to raise suspicions, according to CNN.

Federal prosecutors said that Page met in 2013 with Victor Podobnyy, who turned out to be a Russian operative living in New York. The FBI thus had Page on its radar for at least four years.

I think the issue is not just talking to foreign operatives, but secretly representing the interests of foreign powers while working for/inside a political organisation.

The pattern is well established. Il Douche claims credit for something that he doesn't deserve credit for. Here we go again: "Trump’s claim taking credit for cutting $600 million from the F-35 program"

Trump, yet again, claims credit for decisions that were already made before he became president. Trump stated he “was able to get $600 million approximately off those planes,” thereby ending the “difficulty” and “no movement” in the program.

Yet the Pentagon had already announced cost reductions of roughly $600 million before Trump began meeting with Lockheed Martin’s chief executive. Once again, we award Trump Pinocchios for taking undue credit.

I have no doubt that his claim is "arguably true."
