No apologies needed, the same thought crossed my mind briefly too, but then a reality check kicked in when I thought of the wider consequences.

The assorted branches of the establishment in NI need to demonstrate that they can deal with these groups through the Criminal Justice system in an over and above board manner, no shoot to kill policies, no turning a blind eye while one set of terrorists terrorises the other.
