Just back from the main shopping trip of the week. Mts Rum commented on how food prices have gone up in the last 6 months. Inflation is hovering around 3% and imports are costing more, which explains it, however the way these things are massaged these days once filtered through government public announcements it is hard to determine the reality. I know people on low incomes are struggling more than ever.

I actually got myself one of those when I first retired. Unfortunately I discovered digging completely buggered one of my knees. Had to give it up which was a shame as I really enjoyed it.JimC wrote:Time for the spirit of '39!Rum wrote:Just back from the main shopping trip of the week. You should have tried a spade. Much more efficient.Rum wrote:I actually got myself one of those when I first retired. Unfortunately I discovered digging completely buggered one of my knees. Had to give it up which was a shame as I really enjoyed it.JimC wrote: Down to the allotment!

Or one of these. I got one of these for about £70 about 8 years ago. Amazingly powerful and light. Best bit of kit for an allotment. You can carry it with one hand and put it in the back of the car.
