Germany knife attacker kills man in Grafing

One man was killed and three others wounded by a man wielding a knife east of Munich and police are investigating a possible Islamist connection.
The man attacked four commuters shortly before 05:00 (03:00 GMT) on Tuesday at Grafing station. One of the victims died of his wounds in hospital.
A 27-year-old man was eventually overpowered by police and arrested.

Some witnesses said he shouted "Allahu akbar" ("God is great" in Arabic) but the motive for the attack is unclear.

Police does not confirm an islamist background but speak of a "political motivation". More details expected later today.

Police now confirm a German citizen with no migration background with no known ties to any political or religious organisation. During his deed he was shouting slogans related to Islam but it is unclear at the moment whether he is in favour of or opposed to Islam or just a very disturbed individual.

Police has now announced that the guy was a drug addict who was currently undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Doesn't have to be planned or rational to escape the reality that it was inspired by the Koran...

On what facts do you base that? As I said he could just as well have shouted anti-muslim slogans. The police says the witnesses make conflicting statements.
