It is an absolute disgrace, and it reflects corrupt deals in marginal rural electorates, as well as authorities not having the manpower to control what happens in remote cattle stations.
Fair dinkum, mate.
In June, police raids on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and the home of a News Corp Australia journalist generated a huge backlash.

Six more here.
So you talk about mobs and the working classes as if they were the question. You've got that eternal idiotic idea that if anarchy came it would come from the poor. Why should it? The poor have been rebels, but they have never been anarchists; they have more interest than anyone else in there being some decent government. The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all. Aristocrats were always anarchists. - G.K. Chesterton

Yesterday was Australia's hottest ever day with an average of 40.9* degrees across the country. The next few days will bring even hotter temperatures.

* 105.62 Fahrenheit

Global warming is a Chinese conspiracy :prof:

The forecast for today was 46°C, but we got away lightly. The day topped out at only 43.5. Tomorrow is going to be even better with a top of only 40. Friday will be a doozy, though if the forecast is accurate: 48°C. And this in the middle of December. Statistically, the second half of January is our hottest fortnight. Last January we copped a day with 48.5 (on the 24th).

Hot here, high 30s. We did a lot of watering - at some stage, the garden tanks will run dry. The toilet tanks will last longer, but they automatically switch to mains water when they get low. I really dislike using mains water when we don't have to. It's not a big extra cost, it's just that I want to tread lightly on our water supplies, those dams up in the hills...

Do you have a drip system? Just put one in the front yard, what a pain in the ass. I fucking hate shovels.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

No, we just use a hose and/or watering can. Most of the garden is drought-tolerant natives, so it's mainly the veggies that need watering.

Today, we have a mild cool change, mid 20s, tomorrow back to the low 40s...

I'm sure our government will say (again) that now is not the time to bring up climate change... :roll:

My question is simple. What are the restrictions of building houses in forests and are there no fire breaks?
