Let's see.

Assume there is an Australian Law Maker with with Russian heritage whose still has relatives and property in Russia.

Now Russia wants to put pressure on this Law Maker.

Case 1: He does not have Russian citizenship. Thus Russia can prevent him from entering the country or have bad stuff done to his property.
Case 2: He does have Russian citizenship: He has the right to enter Russia at any time and he can go before Russian courts with his fill rights as a Russian citizen to defend himself against actions of the Russian government.

So, it would seem that having a foreign citizenship actually decreases the influence that foreign government has over you.

I have a co-worker who has four different citizenships! (Germany, UK, South Africa and Uganda)

Another co-worker has German and Russian citizenship. She has a son who lives in Australia and is now trying to get the Australian citizenship to be able to marry his partner who also has German and a Turkish citizenship.

The problem is that because of the differences between all the nation states you need all these different citizenships to be able to perform your businesses. Try to manage properties or heritages in different countries when you don't have the citizenship. So, the more people migrate around the world, the more citizenships they will need to keep at the same time.

The only real solution to this is to have a world government so that everyone has the same rights everywhere.

Not to mention it's a terrible argument anyway. Why would Canada want to influence an insignificant unemployed random citizen? Don't pretend you can't see the difference between yourself and the elite law makers in government.

Well, rEv has a point of sorts, but its not about an automatic increase in a tendency to be untrustworthy if you are a politician with dual citizenship, but simply a potential for future conflicts of interest which would not be the case with single citizenship. As I've said before, it is really only a worry if hidden - if it were known to one and all, then they could remove themselves from votes in any such areas (and watchers would be expecting to see just that)...

I don't know if you've seen the full media on it, but George Brandis got up and gave her a spray and he got a standing ovation from Labour and the cross-benchers. I hate George Brandis almost as much as I hate Tony Abbott and Peter Dutton, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Not at all. The closest he got to suckage was when he said (2:38): "I would caution you and counsel you, Senator Hanson, with respect, to be very, very careful of the offence you may do to the religious sensibilities of other Australians. We have about half a million Australians in this country of the Islamic faith, and the vast majority of them are law-abiding, good Australians..." Sounds rather more like fair comment to me.
