Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread right away...

The Legalise Cannabis WA Party has secured a second seat in the Legislative Council, with candidate Brian Walker winning the sixth seat in the East Metropolitan Region.
Last week Legalise Cannabis WA's Sophia Moermond secured a seat in the South West region from 2 per cent of votes, while the Daylight Saving Party's Wilson Tucker was elected in the Mining and Pastoral Region with just 98 primary votes.
The election of these micro-parties was possible due to preference harvesting deals, where parties take turns in preferencing each other high in one region to boost their percentage of the vote.

Given all the current angst about sexual harassment and disrespect for women in Australia's political institutions, it was a poor choice...

Re: Straya!
It's a nothingburger. Two right wing pundits desperate to find things to talk about.
The host, Peta Credlin, takes a puritan line about the routine, which is pretty tame. Credlin used to be Chief of Staff and key advisor to one of our weirdest conservative Prime Ministers, Tony "noddy onions" Abbott. Abbott was sacked by his own party when it realised that it was bound to lose the next general election if he remained at the helm.
Credlin's guest, Mark Latham, quite liked the show. Latham is a psychopath. During a dispute over a taxi fare he broke the driver's arm. Later he somehow managed to become the leader of the Labor Party. We dodged a bullet when Labor lost the general election under his leadership. After the loss he resigned from the party and eventually finished up with Pauline Hanson's United Australia Party. It's roughly equivalent to UKIP.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

‘Confusing’ milkshake consent video pulled from campaign that cost Australian government $3.8m
A digital media agency created the sexual education campaign, which included a heavily criticised video showing a woman smearing a milkshake over a man’s face

Re: Straya!
It was a very stupid video, utterly confusing and basically irrelevant. Some ad agency hot shot will now lose face...
