You cheat at cricket!
:fix:

Let's not beat about the bush, eh?

The ball tampering during the third test in South Africa was bad enough. What I won't forgive in a hurry is that the Australian Cricket Board merely suspended the individuals involved for twelve months instead of banning them for life. For that reason I was very happy to see Australia bundled out of the World Cup, and I hope it will get beaten for a few more years yet.

If ball tampering is tolerated, which the token 12 month suspension of the cheaters by the ACB amounts to, is un-Austrayan Iam happily un-Austrayan. :levi:

Don't be silly now - their little bee-hands are full carrying all those tiny honeypots back home.

That was a rather waspish remark Jim. :tea:

Europeans get to have nice things – nice things like this. They get to have nice things because they don't mess it up. They get to drink in public because they don't get rowdy and make a nuisance of themselves. They get to have a freshly poured beer down by the beach because they don't annoy anyone.
That's what civilisation is all about, the freedum to get bolloxed in public...
Edinburgh allows the consumption of alcohol in public places but under the Edinburgh by-law, anyone drinking in public would have to stop if asked by police.

In the Strathclyde region that includes Glasgow, the consumption of alcohol or possession of an open container of alcohol, in public places has been illegal since 1996. Breaking this law can mean a fine. This ban was enforced due to the increase in drink-related violent crime.

Sitting on a terrace is far more civilised than knocking back a McEwens Export from a can on a park bench. Edinburgh never allowed terraces on the street. I think the by-law has been changed but it is still alien the last time I was there. The staff are also not used to serving on a terrace with pubs still operating pay as you drink. Something frowned upon here. I think the pub "The Sheep's Heid" in Duddingston has a beer garden if I remember correctly.
"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".
