The ball tampering during the third test in South Africa was bad enough. What I won't forgive in a hurry is that the Australian Cricket Board merely suspended the individuals involved for twelve months instead of banning them for life. For that reason I was very happy to see Australia bundled out of the World Cup, and I hope it will get beaten for a few more years yet.

Sitting on a terrace is far more civilised than knocking back a McEwens Export from a can on a park bench. Edinburgh never allowed terraces on the street. I think the by-law has been changed but it is still alien the last time I was there. The staff are also not used to serving on a terrace with pubs still operating pay as you drink. Something frowned upon here. I think the pub "The Sheep's Heid" in Duddingston has a beer garden if I remember correctly.
