Don't think so. She's too busy cuddling up to anti-abortion groups and US evengelicals at the moment.

I don't think she is - but Anti-trans allies stand together in a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of way. That's where her TERFism has taken her - to the hallowed trans-free spaces of fundamentalist right-wing evangelicals and anti-abortion groups. Ironic, given that the TERFist mantra is all about supposedly protecting women: "If we're serious about degrading human rights protections for trans people we'll have to give our own rights away too. Are you with me ladies?!"

Perhaps I was a little too .. poetical!

Consider some things we know about US Christian fundies and anti-abortion groups.

The fundies uphold 'traditional family values', where the man is the king of the household; the home is their kingdom, and the family their subjects who must bend to their patriarchal will and authority. Children and women are the possessions of the king; women are low status vasels - simultaneously child producers and unpaid carers, domestic servants, and concubines.

The anti-abortion groups have strong ideological overlaps with 'traditional family values', expressed more specifically in terms of how they, and ultimately society, must be granted (and in many cases have been granted) dominion over women, over women's actions, freedoms, choices and bodies. The grounds for this is wholly based on views which see the role of women, their function, as primarily being the producers and carers of children, within social contexts that preference and enforce male domination and female servitude.

Broadly, and historically, patriarchal attitudes and social constructions are very bad for women, and through social systems which maintan that women and their bodies are the natural chatel or property of men, many harms to, oppressions of, and brutalities against women have taken place - and continue to take place.

To a large extent organised fundies and anti-abortionists are anti-trans because trans people do not meet, and indeed represent a challenge to, ideological imperatives which proscribe and enforce a natural division of authority, property and labour for the sexes under hetronormative patriarchical familial and social systems.

In her constant doubling-down on her TERFism Joanne Rowling has not been forced into the arms of US fundies and anti-abortionists, but has willingly embraced them as allies and, more importantly, as the co-funders of her various anti-trans organising and activities. Which means that in her desire to exclude trans people from society, nominally to 'protect women' from what TERFs consider to be 'deviant men', she has allied herself to people and groups which focus on maintaining and enforcing the systematic and systemic male domination of women - the very people currently criminalising women in the US, and those who support them, for not adhering to their ideological standards.
