Resource Curse Losers In The Post Peak Oil World?

Post by cronus » Mon Dec 01, 2014 6:51 am

Will they fight it out till the price goes up again? at least for themselves? Canada vs USA? Saudi Arabia vs Iran? Dump the dollar and cast all the collapse on the USA? Some complicated interplay of scenarios as in the past going forward until everybody is happy with the result or so impoverished not to matter? :nono:

.... You get the gobbledegook I can afford. Nothing more and nothing less. Each thread I start is unique. There is nothing humdrum about this thread either. I've combined multi-theatre regional nuclear war with you having no fuel. How good is that? Beats my Christmas Ebola threads I'm gathering data for. A special message from Scumple. :read:

When the Gin runs low it will be hard choice time. You'll make the right one. Motorbikes are far more fuel efficient.

I remember when fuel prices here in NZ passed $2 per litre for the first time (most of that price is tax). That was more years back than I can easily recall. We were told most solemnly that the price would continue to rise because of peak oil, and would exceed $3 soon, and would never drop.

Well, crude oil prices just dropped again. And my local petrol station is selling at $1-90 per litre, once more.

Tide goes out before the tsunami and folks cheer and go play on the sand they've never seen before. Some even push the boat out and buy gas guzzlers like in the good ol' days. Then.... :nono:

This particular tsunami has been out a long, long time.

I will not make a prediction, though. As the saying goes, "predictions are difficult, especially about the future."

I could give a long, long list of disaster predictions that proved wrong.

I've not been a doom-monger about peak oil in years, give me a chance to check where the other peak-oil doom-mongers are at and I'll give you some numbers. :read:
