People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

[Sorry, a Japanese couple on vacation were so hopelessly lost they had to knock on someone's door at 23:00 and ask for help. He had a little English, and a smart phone, and his B&B is right next door, so it's all good. Poor guys.]

Some vodka "purists" are full of it, a molasses liquor is a rum, not a vodka, even if the molasses are beet and not cane.
and the owners of diageo ought to be burned at the stake, ciroc is brandy new spirit, not vodka.

Vodkas are trendy, so it's vodka. If rums were trendy, it would be "Vodrum. The rum that tastes just like vodka!". But I'll defer to a Parisian in these matters.

Gimme a reposado tequila any day.
I wonder if the'll ever plant agave outside Mexico to make Mescal (the term Tequila being already regulated)

There's no faking mescal...
Had a bad delayed-reaction experience with Magadanskya, a clear Russian potato vodka, drinking shots at -10F. Ne boleye.

Doesn't something just like it grow in Algeria and Morocco?

I doubt so, agave is endemic to Mexico, and they certainly don't make booze of it, not in a muslim country...

The paper flavour is from vanillin, which is what you get from soaking spirit in oak barrels.

Ps. I thought wood alcohol was lethal. I spose there's ways and means of making some of the good stuff from wood though. (ethyl alcohol ? )
I didn't think there was much sugar in wood.
