That means this is a friendly play nice topic, and not a vehicle for personal attacks

Premise:
The biggest problem with the health care industry is a steep year by year increase in costs that is not sustainable in the long term. I will suggest some reasons and the rational behind them.
Ban patents on medicine and medical devices.
All research will be funded by various world governments and charities with no patent or trade secrets allowed. Capitalist corporations invest money into research in hopes of creating something useful they can sell for a profit. Even with price controls, the amount of profit is determined by the amount of money invested. With no limits on how much money is spent in research and other corporate costs such as marketing health care costs increase based on the amount invested. Companies will only manufacture approved drugs and medical devices according to approved specifications to which they hold no patent, though they may patent clever ways on how to create something.
Eliminate law suits.
Set the amount of damages by statute and rulings made by an over site board, and not a costly court venue involving the lucrative law industry. Money spent on legal proceedings and as damages is money not spent on health care and should be minimized. Regulatory agencies (like the FDA) are responsible for approving new medicines and devices.
Tuition aid and incentives to go into the health care industry.
Educational financial aid is based solely on need and aptitude, without any consideration to field of study. The long educational lead time of up to a decade makes capitalism's supply and demand reaction time too sluggish. Actuaries can do a better job of statistically predicting the future numerical need of health care workers, and the government can help meet this target by being more generous in grants and aid to lure the needed additional people.
