A lot viral about this but I'd like to know whether she knew him beforehand? or what had happened in the run up to the incident before passing any moral judgement myself. You can see clearly she's the angry one but why?

It appears the Sikh intervened in a heated internal discussion - then when she struck out, in a mock strike through anger at his intervention he retaliated which provoked a fear based genuine attack from the much smaller female ape at that point. Perhaps the spit was intended to protect him from a attack by the much larger male apes close by...using a sort of symbolic victory humiliation to say the defeat is genuine?

A potentially unpleasant situation was resolved with typical British good humour and some spit.
The only thing that let it down, was the quality of the camerawork, which was obviously performed by a foreign tourist.

Probably wouldn't have been any confrontation at all by a legally-armed individual...until someone was in danger of death or serious bodily harm...like an 85 year old man being kicked around by a woman. We know better than to get into, much less butt into street brawls unless it's absolutely necessary to save a life.

Inside a Sikhs turban is a knife and comb. He'd clearly removed the turban which is a provocative act potentially escalating the situation enormously. Thankfully she mistook him for a harmless Muslim and he withdrew his anger. That's a line of thought....only a line of though.
