And, no, I think that when people make a lot of money, they should be taxed their fair share, and 61% is not fair.

Total US spending across all branches of government is 6.2 Trillion. With a population of 310 million, everyone's fair share is about $20,000 per person.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Doesn't work like that.
How can a six-month old orphan baby pay $20,000? How can someone in prison pay $20,000? How can an ex-soldier, with his legs blown off and no job, pay $20,000?

So some people have to pay more, to cover what other people can't pay. And it makes sense to take it from the richest, rather than the poorest, because it hits them the least, and the poor haven't got it, anyway.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Well, he's got to pay off a range of people first. His caddy will probably get 10%, and there's his coach, manager, etc. Presumably he only pays tax on the net earnings.

Anyway, like most top sports people, he earns far more from endorsements than prize money.

He could move to Florida. IIRC, a lot of top golfers and tennis players reside in Florida because the tax there is low compared to other states/countries.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
