They should never have given him permission to build his golf resort over an environmentally protected site in the first place. He is, but you can hardly blame him for fighting this. And he's right about the economics of wind power. Especially offshore wind power. It's ludicrously expensive, and it's going to ruin the view from the seaside for many miles.
I don't mind seeing them on land, but in the sea, they are a real eyesore.

I think they should put them all on land, where they are a lot cheaper to build and maintain, and they don't look out of place.

Considering that the particular site he is fighting against is specifically for testing different development designs, to find the most efficient proposals, it's stupid to argue with it based on economics.

As for what they looks like, I went somewhere near an offshore wind farm before and when I first saw them I thought "Oh wow that's fascinating" and then they blended into the background.

That "development testing" sounds like a big fat lie to me.
Every project is a development test. You learn as you go on. But offshore wind farms have been developed and tested well before now. That's just bollocks put forward to try to influence the case.

And if they blended into the background, you need specs.
The background of the open sea is nothing like a fucking great spinning turbine. Nothing at all.

I believe Trump's opposition to this development (which he has ALWAYS known was going to be built there ) is actually cover for the fact he doesn't want to build the rest of his "Best golf course in the world" complex, likely because it's not financially viable. The project was supposed to bring huge numbers of jobs to the area, the golf courses first, then a luxury hotel, thats why he got planning permission. I doubt he ever planned to build the hotel, and the windfarm is his excuse.

I mean, would you trust the man who said this:
