It's an amnesty bill, pure and simple. The provisions for border control are way in the future and would never happen, while the legalization of most illegal aliens would be immediate.

I don't understand why the proponents of the bill object to border security measures now, and why the object to illegal aliens being denied government benefits.

I don't mind amnesty. I mind that the underlying problem is not solved.
