Is it weird that the US's highest monetary denomination ever in public circulation does not have a President's face on it, but rather a US Treasury Secretary named Salmon P. Chase (who was also a Senator and a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court)?

This is not a conspiracy thread -- this is a discussion thread. Just because most people don't know what the bills they use as money are, and just because most people understand Calculus better than they do the Federal Reserve, doesn't mean that there is some sort of global conspiracy.
