Pakistani salt conspiracy

Post by normal » Wed Jan 02, 2013 10:30 am

Apparently there is a widespread belief that iodized salt is an attempt to reduce the population of Pakistan. An estimated 50% of the population are in one way or another affected negatively by lack of iodine in their diet. The health problems caused by this are pushing an already fragile economy towards the edge.

These rumours are spread by imams and merchants. Belief is a dangerous thing as always.

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

Isn't everything an attempt to reduce the population of Pakistan?

Don't most countries want their populations to be reduced?

They don't want it done by an agency they didn't agree on and are afraid of, like iodine.
