What a bummer for this time of the year. I know the guy from the local, he's friend's of some of my friend's younger brothers. I hope he's found safe.

Rush has gotten to be a bit of a kip of late with increased robberies and a friend of mine beaten to a pulp a few weeks ago by a bunch of guys who jumped out of a car. WTF has happened to this place? It used to be a quiet, idyllic town you could leave your keys in the door. Between the population increasing twofold with blow-ins from Dublin and inner-city people coming out here seeing it as an easy target because the dickheads closed our local Garda station and this recession it's gone to the dogs.

Thanks to that freedom of movement EU thing, they can even send you trouble makers from other countriesCormac wrote:Animavore wrote:Rush has gotten to be a bit of a kip of late with increased robberies and a friend of mine beaten to a pulp a few weeks ago by a bunch of guys who jumped out of a car. A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

It is true that some who have come here have been trouble, but more often than not, we get hard working people who want to get on in life. The vast majority of people who have come to Ireland have been an asset for us.Tyrannical wrote:Thanks to that freedom of movement EU thing, they can even send you trouble makers from other countriesCormac wrote:Animavore wrote:Rush has gotten to be a bit of a kip of late with increased robberies and a friend of mine beaten to a pulp a few weeks ago by a bunch of guys who jumped out of a car. Of all the EU measures that we've had, free movement of goods, services, and workers have been positive.
No foreign government can send their troublemakers to Ireland, by the way.
We Irish have our fair share of troublemakers in other countries, notably the travellers who fraudulently prey upon unsuspecting people.
