I saw this and I thought of you!

An interesting article on male circumcision - including quite a few points that I have not come across before (Yes, I know that looks like an euphemism for jism but it was not meant to be! :hehe: )

Circumcision is just another one of the many obscenities to be blamed on religion.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.

Or, at a deeper level, on the need for humans to control each other. Something that I imagine predates the tool of religion.

"You are doing a procedure on someone who cannot make a decision for himself - it's a difficult choice for both parents and physicians," says Dr Marvin Wang, co-director of the Newborn Nurseries at Massachusetts General Hospital, who has conducted hundreds of circumcisions.

:funny:

A surprise to me from the article is that the majority of Filipinos, and a large proportion of South Koreans, are circumcised.

Still reading...

n the US (which has not ratified the UN Convention on Rights of the Child) the anti-circumcision movement - or genital autonomy movement as it sometimes called - has "mushroomed" in the last few years, says Steven Svoboda, founder and executive director of Attorneys for the Rights of the Child, based in California.

:funny:

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.
