An interesting article on male circumcision - including quite a few points that I have not come across before (Yes, I know that looks like an euphemism for jism but it was not meant to be! )

Circumcision is just another one of the many obscenities to be blamed on religion.

Or, at a deeper level, on the need for humans to control each other. Something that I imagine predates the tool of religion.

"You are doing a procedure on someone who cannot make a decision for himself - it's a difficult choice for both parents and physicians," says Dr Marvin Wang, co-director of the Newborn Nurseries at Massachusetts General Hospital, who has conducted hundreds of circumcisions.



A surprise to me from the article is that the majority of Filipinos, and a large proportion of South Koreans, are circumcised.
